WelcoMe to JaMeS MaDiSon SWiMMing & Diving!Hello and welcome to James Madison University! I am proud to show you everything our university has to offer. While this recruiting guide is a perfect way to begin your search of JMU, make sure to also visit us online at www.jmusports.com and www.jmu.edu.
James Madison University has been recognized with nationally-ranked areas of study, great undergraduate pro-grams, a beautiful campus and a dynamic student body. Additionally our athletic department is dedicated to building strong student-athletes. We take great pride in our academic and athletic accomplishments. As we continue to build the swimming and diving program off of our 2012 CAA Championship toward a NCAA cham-
pionship caliber squad, we also maintain a standard of scholarly excellence in consistently earning Academic All-America status.
As you begin to get a glimpse of JMU Swimming and Diving you will find a strong family atmosphere. This cohesive, motivated group is committed to reaching the next level of competition as one unit. Our team of swimmers, divers, coaches and support staff all play a part in creating a motivating atmosphere where we can compete and excel every day! Over the years, JMU has earned seven CAA team championships and boasts 56 individual champions. In 2013 alone, the swimming and diving family had 12 record-breaking performances and placed second in the CAA cham-pionship meet. We also had our first swimmer qualify for the NCAA tournament and sent two divers to the NCAA Zone Championships. It is our goal to build on JMU’s tradition of success in the Colonial Athletic Association.
I hope you will look further into James Madison University and our Swimming and Diving Program. Come visit our campus and enjoy ev-erything we have to offer. It is a great time to be wearing purple! Go DUKES!
