Discussions /Feedback to Presentations
§ Interesting project § It is important to bring content next to users! § Think of social components (friendships) § Take movement patterns and mobility into account
§ Do not forget security! § Perhaps narrow the scenarios to most relevant ones.
§ Robert Moskowitz (Verizon) § Aiko Pras (University of Twente) § Martin Bauer (NEC Europe) § Martin Fiedler (Fraunhofer IML)

Program – May 8th § Session 2: Innovation Stream 1 - Sum up
§ Long developing cycle § Government founding is required until product is on sale § Investigate in search and development § End-user must be included in the development § Using programs / applications require a minimum of ICT skills (e.g. programming,
administration) in order to use it properly --> alternative SIMPLE Solutions § Education has to move with day life -> different education is required -> align
teachers/students which become teachers later with the direction of social life directions
§ Technical community must understand the requirements and lower the threshold to "it is good enough!“
§ Involve user as soon as possible in order to understand the users requirements and to develop in this direction -> it is a kind of bootstrapping -> you do not need so much finance until the product is on market and brings money

Program – May 8th § Session 2: Innovation Stream 2 - Sum up
§ Researchers tend to not have a strong business knowledge to “sell” their solutions to entrepreneurs
§ Entrepreneurs tend to not have a deep technical knowledge about innovation § Therefore: what is the solution to bridge the gap between research institutions
and entrepreneurs, that they approximate and “speak the same language” ?
§ Proposal: motivate to create an intermediate entity (non-profit or government driven)
§ This entity should visit research institutions and technically understand what they are doing
§ In the same way, this entity should have contacts with entrepreneurs and start-ups to know what are their necessities, or which kind of innovation can match in theirs business
§ Many countries already have an entity with such characteristics, but there is no much organization (from governments) to consolidate it
