A MESSAGE FROM JOHN MADDOCKWelcome to the Work Skills Course Guide. This brand new guide, with its 500+ short courses, results from the new working partnership between CAE (Centre for Adult Education), in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD, and Box Hill Institute, Box Hill. These two institutions share a wealth of experience across an incredible range of areas. Box Hill Institute has a long history of training expertise – particularly vocational and technical. Our short courses offer immersion in an area of your choice, which can be ideal preparation for further study. From ‘App Development’ and ‘MYOB Introduction’ to ‘Pro Tools 101’ our courses are designed to deliver the best learning outcomes. Or perhaps you’re looking for professional certification? Cisco Certification Pathways, Microsoft Certification or ‘Photovoltaic Grid Connect’, for example, might be just what you’re after.

From its early days in the 1950s, CAE offered short courses such as ‘Home Plumbing’ and ‘Inflation, the Nation and You’. Today, Victoria’s largest provider of adult and community education delivers over 900 short courses annually. Our strong suite of courses in art, food and philosophy, to name a few, are complemented by work and business related courses, with everything from ‘Facebook for Business’ to the Certificate IV in Community Services and the Diploma of Business. This Work Skills Course Guide is packed with learning opportunities designed to keep you ahead professionally, whether it’s updating to new technologies and software, building your leadership skills or gaining a new qualification. If you’re looking to build your work talents, make a career move or even searching for work, I’m confident our new Work Skills Course Guide will provide you with plenty of opportunities to keep you skilled and engaged.
