The Sports Capital Programme is the main channel of Government support for developing sports facilities and purchasing sports equipment for sports clubs and organisations across Ireland.

Aims Support counties to develop high quality, safe,
well designed, sustainable facilities in appropriate locations.
Provide appropriate equipment to help maximise participation in sport and physical recreation.
Prioritise the needs of disadvantaged areas in the provision of sports facilities.
Encourage the multi-purpose use of facilities by clubs, community organisations and NGB’s of sport.

Deadlines for applications
Online applications and those made in Irish (+ a hard copy of the signed application and all supporting documentation) – 5pm Friday 1st June.
Paper based applications (+ all supporting documentation) – 5pm Friday 11th May.
LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

10. Managing the Facility
Business plan document outlining management of facility, managing costs, running programmes/initiatives to increase participation.
Include management policies on staff, opening hours, social inclusion policies etc.

11. Encouraging disadvantaged groups and people to use your facilties. How will this happen? What initiatives will you put in place to ensure this?
Detail target numbers. Detail targeting unemployed persons (lower cost

include groups with low physical activity participation rates. (Female, older adults, people with disabilities.)
