About The CDGABACKGROUND• Founded in 1914 and operated by amateur golfers for the benefit and promotion of golf in the Chicago District• More than 390 member clubs and nearly 81,000 individual members in Illinois, Michigan, Wisconsin and Indiana• Directed by a District-wide Board of Directors and an advisory committee of past presidents• Serviced by a full-time staff based at Midwest Golf House in Lemont, Ill.

SERVICES• Licensed by the USGA to provide a USGA Handicap Index® to all members• Course measuring and rating• Conduct more than 50 amateur tournaments annually• Interpretation of the Rules of Golf• Provide educational seminars and professional expertise on a variety of subjects including

The Southern Illinois Golf Association (SIGA) services nearly 40 golf courses in the southern portion of Illinois.

CDGA member clubs have hosted numerous USGA and PGA Championships. Medinah CC will host the 2012 Ryder Cup and TPC Deere Run is the site of an annual PGA Tour event, the John Deere Classic.
