You give up (sacrifice, do without) some small, routine
extras for yourself (like a Gatorade, Swiss Roll, or a cup
o’ coffee) and you contribute some of the cost of that
“extra” thing towards a bigger necessary thing that will
help the people who share your town, country, or planet.

is that organizations that make our town worth living-in

on the serpentine course
in the center
of the Library Raceway.
Entry fee: 50 cents
All library rules apply.
The Sophomore ClassicHosted at the luxurious KnightClub Golf Course set amid the scenic grandeur of the ACS Library.
Treat yourself to a round of golf the way it was intended to be:
always a tropical 72 degrees, never a bothersome cross-wind,
manicured fairways, fast greens, and a modest greens fee...like 25¢.
The course is open during school
hours for pros or amateurs,
students or staff.
Library rules apply.

Wyoming beats Georgetown
for the NCAA basketball title
in the 8-team tournament.
Ken Sailor from Wyoming is
named the tournament MVP.
In Afton, Fred Holdrege,
Irving Moore, Bob Callen, Rennie
Smith, Louie Cooper, Chester Kyle,
and Art Nelson (right) line up for
Afton team, photos. In the ageless
ritual, you can see Art’s teammates
chuckling behind the doors
awaiting their turn.
The faces and uniforms change,
but the game endures.

like Robert Frost is that I think YOU often feel
that creativity is some rare, one-of-a-kind gift
that only a few, like him, are entitled to practice.
Wrong.
Creativity is for all of us.
So draw, write, compose, make.
It’s our world to create.
