September. Wednesday, June 10th, is an invisiblemachine applique class. Each class cost $40 for guildmembers & $45 for non-members. Contact LindaNorthwick, 964-5594, for additional details.
Here's a reminderthe June meeting & workshopswill be held at the Ankeny Baptist Church.
Jean Taft shared this poem---enjoy!
There are quilts that make me wonder
There are quilts that make me blink. There are quilts that tug my heartstrings.
There are quilts that make me think.
But the quilts that mean the mostAnd that fill my heart with glee
Aren't the ones I see at quilt shows,
But the rare ones made for me!
--Author Unknown
Carol Doak dazzled us inApril with her trunk show
featuring vests, paper-pieced miniature quiltsand her amazing DearJane Legacy Quiltconsisting of 300 differentpaper-pieced blocks.
If you participated in oneof Carol's workshops, bring your completedblock (it doesn't have to bequilted just put together
with borders) to show atour May meeting. Therewill be a drawing---andone lucky winner will gohome with one of Carol'sbooks.
Donate Snuggles to the ARL
Cathy Dimit reminded guild members in March aboutthe need forSnuggles at the Animal Rescue League.
Snuggles are small blanketsthey must be at least a12 inch squarethat are made for cat beds at theAnimal Rescue League. These blankets can be madeout of anything that would be cozy for a kitty to lie on.They can be made out of two layers of fleece and tied, they can have batting or not, they can be made fromknitted things, or any soft fabric. Cats don't carewhat color the blanket is! This is a great learningproject for new sewers. For more information contactCathy at 967-8404.
