The CD is now commonplace in most sites as they continue to be the best method of exchange for medical

images. The imaging industry has been trying to eliminate film and the expensive wet or dry processing it

requires for many years. This is true with X-Ray film and the process of storing medical images with new digital

modalities. CDs not only reduce the cost of processing and storage, but allow greater flexibility with image

manipulation and transfer via institutional computer networks. CDs promise to be the accepted medium of

exchange in the medical industry; completing the transfer to filmless, for years to come.

TDK Medical developed the first medical CD recording station in 1998 to promote the exchange of CDs in

radiology. TDK had already dominated the cardiology market with the CD in the preceding years, and now

looked to gain a foothold in cardiology by introducing a system that took the burden out of creating a CD for

exchange. TDK’s first medical recording station could attach to either a CT or MR, and record one study on

one CD at a time. Since then, systems have evolved into a complete CD/DVD image media control center. The

purpose of the system is to eliminate workflow issues associated with burning CDs-DVDs for archive or

exchange. After the close of TDK’s medical division in 2007, several key engineers & employees joined forces

to continue the evolution of this product, resulting in the premier dicomray Medical CD/DVD Recording

Station (CDRS). The system does not compete with your capability to burn CDs-DVDs, only the problems you

currently face creating this media. Most hospitals and clinics have CD burners on their PACS workstations,

CTs, MRs, Diagnostic workstations, and even office computers. But as you progress towards becoming

filmless, the goal is to achieve true workflow efficiency.

For instance, an authorized user can log into the dicomray CDRS remotely via a browser to search the site

network for a study and initiate a burn for a patient. Our system acts as a central producer of consistent

DICOM compliant CDs. The dicomray CDRS will produce a CD with a full-color label that may include patient

demographics, station name, current date, date of study, patient ID, site logo, and doctor information or any

other DICOM field you choose. The system keeps a log of discs created for HIPPA regulation and shelf

management. This information is kept for remote burning as well. Think of the dicomray CDRS as a network

printer for a medium that is used for exchange of patient data, instead of film. The dicomray CDRS interface

was designed to be user friendly and efficient with a very fast learning curve. When you combine this intuitive

GUI with a low price point to allow for two or more units per site, you will soon be able to declare

independence from film.

Welcome to the future of medical imaging

dicomray CDRS version 3.0 has arrived.

Digital Mammography

Storage Solutions

The mammoray PACS Server will solve many of the problems associated

with your current system of mammography retrieval and storage.

Clinicians accessing this system will be able to instantly retrieve a

woman's mammogram prior to her appointment, thereby unburdening

her with the responsibility of having to physically obtain her X-ray

mammograms when going to a new physician. When the new digital

Mammogram image is created, it can be stored in the mammoray archive

server. Additionally, this system will offer an avenue for obtaining expert

consultation from a third party in real time, making difficult diagnostic

evaluations more effective and improving patient care in the under-

served areas that are without access to breast imaging expertise.

Dedicated workstations, while robust in

functionality, present some limitations in terms of image access. Beyond

image needs within your institution, PACS solutions also need to

accommodate the needs of teleradiology; they should provide a solution

for on-call Radiologists, who would like to review images from offsite

locations; they should allow physicians at multi-site facilities to view

patient images during rounds. For environments where immediate image

access can make the difference between life and death, your PACS

solution needs to extend the reach of Medical Imaging.

A Solution for Your Complete Enterprise Cedara I-Reach TM is a web-based DICOM server that provides access to

relevant information at the appropriate time, presented in the proper

context, with the clinically relevant tools to ensure patient outcomes are

accurate and timely. This internet-deployable technology provides the

ultimate information access utilizing web-enabled technologies in a thin-

client environment.

“This new web viewer
