Corrosion Resistant Sealer: A polymeric green seal (non-chrome) corrosion resistance extender is appliedunder all NGP powder coat finishes. Laboratory salt spray tests prove a dramatic increase in corrosion resist-ance on steel products with this sealer applied to the metal prior to the powder coat finish.

Salt Spray Test Results: Steel lite kits with NGP’s corrosion resistant sealer and powder coat finish with-stood 1,248 hours without failing. This is 2 1/2 times longer than the protection provided by powder coatingonly.

Zinc Electro-Plating: Available on steel lite kits and louvers for exterior, wet areas, and coastal saltair locations. Zinc electro-plating will be applied prior to the powder coat finish. Specify on order “Zinc EL-Plate”, and powder coat color desired.

The LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System® is a national stan-dard for developing high-performance, sustainable buildings developed by the U.S. Green Building Council. NGPlite kits and louvers are factory finished using powder coating technology which does not produce volatileorganic compounds (VOCs) in the application process, and does not give off VOCs in use on the job or whenrecycled. If the building where the products are installed is within 500 miles of our manufacturing facility inMemphis TN then NGP materials contribute toward Materials and Resources credits 5.1 and 5.2, Local/RegionalMaterials, in LEED new Construction versions 2.0 and 2.1.

Lite Kit Technical Information:

Fire-Rated Lite Kits: Lite Kits installed in fire-rated doors require fire-rated glass and glazing tape. Refer topages L23-L27 for available glass types and maximum sizes for fire-rated applications.

Impact Safety Rated: IBC 2006 requires glazing in swinging doors to be impact safety-rated to comply withthe CPSC 16CFR 1201 Category I or II. On Fire-rated doors use SuperLite 1-WTM, FireLite®NT, FireLite® Plus,Fireglass20TM or Pilkington PyrostopTM. On non-fire-rated doors use tempered glass or polycarbonate.

Accessibility Standard Compliance:

ICC/ANSI A117.1-2003 standard for Accessible and Usable Buildings and Facilities, section 404.2.10 requires thatthe bottom of the glass panel in a vision lite is 43” maximum above the floor. An exception is made for vision liteswith the lowest part more than 66” above the floor not required to comply.

Louver Technical Information:

Steel louvers over 46” wide and aluminum louvers over 36” wide must be furnished as two louver cores mounted inone louver frame with a mullion in between.
