The p erm ittee shall ensure that dogs are not allowed on the non-p ublic p rem ises excep twhere, on occasion, a dog is utilized as a comp anion' anim al 'and remains in an exhibiton an ongoing basis.6 . The p erm ittee shall be p erm itted to maintain in total inventory on zoo p rem ises, onlythe total numbers and sp ecies of animals as identified in Schedule B and no other ,whether o r not those animals are owned by the p erm ittee or any other p erson.7 . The p erm ittee shall, not a llow members o f the p ublic, at any time, whether on or off the

zoo p rem ises to have direct p hysica l contact w ith any Pr imate or any p erm it animal ofthe fo llow ing fam ilies: Felidae, C anidae, Ursidae, Procyon idae and M ustelidae. TheD rum heller D istr ict F ish and W ildlife O fficer m ay, by reasonable wr itten notice, exp andthis list to include other fam ilies of anim als.8 . Where the p ublic is allowed direct contact w ith other p erm it animals not listed incondition 6 above or when the other p erm it animal is not housed in it's lockedcontainer , the p erm ittee m ust p rovide continuous direct sup ervis ion by qualified andcap able zoo p e rs onne l.9 . Zoo Advisory Committee

Considerable improvement with the plan was noted and appreciated, however more workis required. Details of the required work is outlined below.1. Request all inventory, wildlife and controlled animals as well as domestic and

uncontrolled animals to be in one place, one list so to speak.2. The Breeding section was very general. Committee requests a species by species

breeding plan. In addition to considering which animals are to breed, the breedingplan must consider a) conservation benefits of breeding b) how animal husbandryaspect/inbreeding is prevented c) how surplus young will be disposed of.

3. Acquisitions: Please note that the additional species listed will be accepted asanimals of interest. However, these will still have to be requested through anamendment the Schedule B.4. 4. Disposition of Live Animals: the word "legal" should be placed in front ofauthority.

5. Perimeter fence. It is noted that part of the fence is yet to be completed. TheCommittee recommends completion by October 1, 2006.Please note that aperimeter fence must be separate from exhibit fencing.

6. Direct contact is mentioned in E, Off-Site display, H, Public and Staff Safety andAppendix A-3. The information presented is very general. The Committeerequests that plans (protocols) for individual species and the animals involved(disposition, age, attendance of staff and other items listed generally Appendix"A-3)

7. Photography/Filming. It is acknowledged that this is part of your business,however there must be protocols/plans to deal with this dealing with the safetycomponents and the animals involved. Provide specifics.

8. I Staff Experience and Training. It was noted that training plans, process forevaluation/training of volunteers was not presented. Need to present thisinformation,

9. Decommission Plan. Itwas noted that "Auction" would not be a viable option formost licensed animals as they could only be sold to those who are authorized tohold such animals, and this is a small pool of individuals. The other approachesare the way to go. Note: Committee is looking at how to handle disposition ofdomestic animals and wildlife and licensed animals that have co-mingled and willbe providing more information to all zoos here.10, Animal Care Protocol. Some good work here.Committee requests daily cleaning of pens for all carnivores and primates.Committee requests that excess food be removed daily when cleaning pens.
