HISTORY OF THE NEW LIBRARY SITE
Some museum members have been researching thehistory of the land and buildings on the Deal Road siteof Ocean Township’s new library. The Stucile Farmsign, thought to be long gone, was located in anAllenhurst antique shop by Museum Trustee, MargeEdelson. The sign has been completely restored andwill be preserved. The property was called StucileFarm by the Ira Haupt family when they were theowners from 1931 to 1964
In 1964 the Haupt family sold the property to EmanuelTerner and the property was then called Poplar BrookFarm. Two signs hung at the entrance on Deal Roadfor many years. These signs have been thoroughlycleaned and will also be preserved.
Watch for more about the history of this site when our new library opens.
