2 You then, my son, BE STRONG IN THE GRACE THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS. 2 And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in

suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer. 5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete does not receive the

victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules. 6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to

receive a share of the crops. 7 Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

Written by PAUL15 You know that everyone in the province of Asia has deserted me, including Phygelus and Hermogenes.16 May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus, because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed of my chains .

[ 2 Timothy 1:15-16]6 For I am already being poured out like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near.

[ 2 Timothy 4:16]

9 DO YOUR BEST TO COME TO ME QUICKLY, 10 for Demas, because he loved this world, has deserted me and has gone to Thessalonica.  Crescens has gone to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. 11 Only

Luke is with me. [ 2 Timothy 4:9-11]

Who was anticipating  death

Who was lonesome due to colleagues’ ministry assignments and to desertion of colleagues

Who was young & naturally timid

First Letter of PAUL to TIMOTHY

Second Letter for TIMOTHY6 For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the

laying on of my hands. 7 For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us

power, love and self-discipline. 8 So do not be ashamed of the testimony about our Lord or of me his prisoner. Rather, join with me in suffering

for the gospel, by the power of God.[ 2 Timothy 1:6-8]

Fading

Whose timidity is Furthering

Whose fear for suffering is Feasible

1. Be a wise steward for Christ

Page 12: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

1. Wise Steward for Christ 2 And the things you have heard me say in the

presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to

teach others.

Be wise to invest time & efforts with people who are reliable & are serious with God

Pray for & identify Faithful, Available, Teachable  believers (FAT believers)

Equip and Empower these FAT believers

Wise in Investing Time with People

17 As iron sharpens iron,    so one person sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

33 Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.

1 Corinthians 15:33

Page 14: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

2. Dedicated Soldier for Christ 3 Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of

Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to

please his commanding officer.

Be wise with your goals and priorities Beware of worldly, temporal  cares and values Be always ready to please our commanding

officer : GOD rather than people

Page 15: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Beware of worries & cares of this world: Matthew 6:31-34 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or

‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need

them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to

you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Page 16: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Beware of the deceitfulness of riches: Mark 4:18-19

18 Still others, like seed sown among thorns, hear the word; 19 but the worries

of this life, the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word, making it

unfruitful.

Page 17: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

3. Committed Athlete for Christ  5 Similarly, anyone who competes as an athlete

does not receive the victor’s crown except by competing according to the rules.

Be committed to success – obedience to the rules

Be very familiar with the rule book: Word of God

Be obedient to the rule book

Page 18: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Paul came out a winner6 For I am already being poured out

like a drink offering, and the time for my departure is near. 7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8 Now

there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the

righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also

to all who have longed for his appearing..

2 Timothy 4:6-8

Page 19: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Be committed to success, be obedient to the rule book

8 Keep this Book of the Law always on your

lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do

everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and

successful. Joshua 1:8

Page 20: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Be obedient, love is action & love is obedience

46 “Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?

Luke 6:4621 Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be

loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

John 14:21

4. Hardworking Farmer for Christ

6 The hardworking farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops.

Be persevering  Beware of laziness Be expectant:• Expect results• Expect to be rewarded for your efforts

Page 22: 2 Timothy 2:1-7

Be persevering, not lazy, be expectant:

58 Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know

that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.1 Corinthians 15:58

9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.
