In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? (continued)Haja-Fatmata Bangura1067

When conducting my research and planning for the ancillary tasks I learnt that a typical digipak CD booklet, of any genre, consists of:

• A front cover • Lyrics page• Photos of artist• Track listing information (writers, producers, vocals etc.)• Thank yous page

My own CD booklet compared to the example previously, Tank – Now or Never, is similar. I used the same house style of design, text font and size throughout the booklet which makes it seem professional and like a real media product.

When looking at the ideologies of female rappers some seemed to look like objects of visual pleasure I challenged this by staying far away from this in media products and capturing images that do not portray the types of ideology I researched. I did so DeeDee’s fans can look up to her in a respectable way.

• My two main examples of female rappers were Nicki Minaj and Lil’ Kim. In their music videos they are associated with flashy things e.g. cars and money, in my own music video I stayed away from this of representation of female rappers. I made DeeDee seem humble and be associated with things she is passionate about e.g. her music which is shown by the choice of props, headphones.
