Weekly Home Fun Sheet Week of February 6 th – February 10 th 2016 Mrs. Kouroupos-White 2-309 Reminder: Three trip slips will be sent home soon for the month of March. The cost of all three trips is $16. Monday 2/6/17 Reading: Bigger Books Means Amping Up Reading Power. 30-40 minutes of reading. Fill in your reading log. Remember tha readers practice their reading voice. As you read tonight, make sure that you are thinking about how the author wants the story to be read. Pay attention to dialogue tags and ho characters are feeling. Practice reading in the right voice and reread to make sure it sounds right. Writing: Narrative Writing. This week, our goal is to get ready for publishing. Go back to a story you have already written or a story you began but did not complete and start to edit/revise your writing. Make sure that your work will be ready for publishing. Use the writing checklist to help you. Math: Short Response #1. Social Studies: Social Studies: Civic Ideas and Practices. Read the article, “American Symbols,” and answer the following question: Which American symbol do you think is th best? Why? Jot down what helped you to read with your best expression.
