The Mount Saint Vincent University Students’ Union is proud to present Orientation Week - 2013. This is an anual welcome week of events held for first year MSVU students and introduce them to the HRM.
Orientation Week 2013 runs from September 1st to 8th. The Mount Saint Vincent University Students’ Union offers Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsor-ship packages. Feel free to contact us to customize a sponsorship that works best for your business. We also accept in-kind donations.
The MSVU Students’ Union is a non-profit organization and much of our success comes from the involvement and generosity of our community and business partners.

Mount Saint Vincent University and Shinerama
Shinerama is Canada’s largest post-secondary fundraiser in-volving students at almost 60 university and college campuses across Canada, raising money for cystic fibrosis research. Shinerama 2012 raised $1,035,000 for Cystic Fibrosis Canada. Each summer Mount Saint Vincent University launches fundrais-ing efforts to join in the cause. Students host carwashes, BBQs, sporting events and more. During Orientation week there is an official shine day where students, new and old, hit the streets of Halifax to raise awareness and funds. Mount Saint Vincent University has taken part in Shinerama since 1999 and raised a total of $146,144 to date.
Cystic Fibrosis Facts: •Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease in which excess mucus clogs the lungs, prevents food from being digested, and dam-ages the reproductive system•There are approximately 4,000 Canadians living with cystic fibrosis who receive specialized care at one of the 42 CF clinics across the country•Each week in Canada, two children are diagnosed and one person dies from the disease•Of the Canadians with cystic fibrosis who died in 2010, half were under 26 years old•Sixty per cent of Canadians are diagnosed within their first year of life and 90 per cent are diagnosed by age 10•Only half of all Canadians with cystic fibrosis are expected to live beyond their late forties
