Analytic CubismThe first of two phases of Cubism was called Analytic Cubism because it analyzed the form of objects by shattering them into fragments spread out on the canvas.

Analytic CubismPicasso and Braque worked in a nearly monochrome palette. Using only brown, green and later gray in order to analyze the form without the distraction of bright colors.
