St. Mary Parish Fifth Sunday of Easter April 29, 2018
5th Sunday of Easter
Did you hear the words of today’s gospel? “Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without you can do nothing.” What a consolation to have Jesus guiding and companioning us. With Him, we have the ability to be His disciples. During this Easter season, hold fast to the truth that Christ accompanies us in the work of evangelization. So let’s get to work!

Our partners at Project Bread are celebrating their
50th Walk for Hunger & 5K Run on Sunday, May 6! Funds
raised by the Walk come back to organizations like ours that
work to end hunger in Massachusetts. We are so grateful to
Project Bread for their support of this critical work in our state.
Project Bread began 50 years ago with the first Walk for
Hunger, when a small group of committed citizens took to the
streets to bring awareness to this social justice issue. Today,
thousands of people still participate in the Walk to support the
1 in 10 people in Massachusetts who are food-insecure. Be a
part of this tradition. Join the movement today as a Walker,
Runner or Volunteer, and together, we can make hunger
history. Register today at www.projectbread.org/walk!

Operation Sock Drop ~ Thank You!!!
Dear St. Mary Community,
Thank you very much to everyone who donated socks to
Friends of Boston’s Homeless! Your generosity is a
blessing to many. I received a phone call from the dona-
tions coordinator, and he expressed great gratitude for
your donations. In addition, upon delivering the socks, I
was greeted by an employee who was sincerely thankful
for the donations. They emphasized the importance of
socks because of the warmth and protection they provide
for people walking on the streets for long periods of
time. Thank you for supporting Friends of Boston’s
Homeless and for helping this drive become a success!
It has been amazing to see God work through the
process!
Love,
Kimberlee Collins

OUR COMMUNITY
Today’s Reflection
In a way Easter Time for the Church is like springtime for the world, and for those of us who live in the northern hemisphere, it is wonderful that they coincide. The world around us celebrates new life: Trees and plants are budding, animals have come out of hibernation, the sun is out longer. As Christians, we also celebrate new life: Jesus is risen, the readings recount the infancy of the early church, we have new life in the Lord by our baptism. Let us celebrate this new life as we continue celebrating this holy season.
