We all dream of catching fish of epic proportions, and it’s no secret that the River Ebro in Spain is home to huge fish, with catfish growing to enormous sizes and some incredible fighting common carp, We’ve teamed up with

the guys at Ebro Monster Cat Hunters to give you a brilliant competition where you have the chance to win a fully guided 1-week trip for two anglers.

Spain has developed a reputation for some of the best catfish and carp fishing in Europe, if not the world. The River Ebro is best known for its abundance of monster catfish and carp, with both species regularly caught and topping the scales, and unbelievable weights being recorded. A 100lb+ catfish is not an unusual target, with 200lb+ fish living in these waters; 20-50lb+ wild common carp are also frequently caught, so you can be sure to enjoy a great variety of powerful cats and incredible fighting carp. During your stay with Ebro Monster Cat Hunters, you will fish for 12 hours per day between the hours of 6.00 a.m. and midnight, with the time split between morning and afternoon/evening sessions, so you are fishing during optimum bite times to get the best possible experience from your trip.

Ebro Monster Cat Hunters is a small family-run guiding service offering bespoke and package tours on the Lower River Ebro. Strategically placed in the Ebro Valley, this allows the flexibility to fish numerous swims and stretches of the river in a variety of exciting styles, i.e. bank, boat and float tubing, which guarantees you are always on fishable areas. As opposed to the Middle Ebro area, the Lower is significantly underfished, offering anglers the chance to fish in beautiful/quiet surroundings for the large catfish/carp, and many of these fish have never been caught.

Your host, and experienced guide, Craig, has amassed over 35 years of angling

experience, having fished in numerous locations across the globe in fresh/saltwater. He is as equally at home on a small estate lake as the vast inland water systems and rivers of the Continent. Since retiring to Spain after a successful career in the catering industry (taking on roles as Executive Head Chef), he has explored and extensively fished the Ebro River system. He finally settled in this area because it allows a great level of flexibility for fishing this river.

At Ebro Monster Cat Hunters, four anglers can be accommodated comfortably, staying in a traditional Spanish townhouse owned by the company, as B&B guests; this means excellent hospitality 24/7. The house is located in the beautiful town of Gandesa, which is situated in the stunning mountains of the Terra Alta, Tarragona. Gandesa has numerous bars and restaurants, as well as an open-air pool you can use during the summer months.
