Profile Job Title Senior Highway Surveyor

Education/Professional Experience

BSc in Civil Engineering or Surveying

Years of experience 10 years of relevant experience in field surveying for major highway construction projects.

Terms of Reference Possess the ability to utilize modern survey equipment.

Working Hours The post is a site position, based on a 6 day working week (Saturday to Thursday) and an 8 hour working day.

Job Description Duties & Responsibilities As the manager of the Field Survey team, the Senior Highway Surveyor is

responsible for: • The management of the Supervising Consultant’s field survey team. • Verifying on a regular basis, with the Contractor, that the proposed survey

control points are properly established and protected. • Implementing the Supervising Consultant’s programme for the checking of

the accuracy of the Contractor’s survey points and setting-out and reporting non-conformances.

• Assisting the Supervising Consultant’s engineering teams by providing up to date survey information, etc.

• Verifying that as-built levels are correct. • Providing survey information to the Quantity Surveying Team for the

evaluation of work done, etc. • Commenting on the Contractor’s method statements relating to survey

issues. • Assisting quality and technical audits of the Contractors survey equipment

and procedures. • Ensuring that the Supervising Consultants survey equipment is kept in

working order and properly calibrated. • Maintaining survey records for the purpose of reviewing the Contractor’s as-

built drawing submissions.

Reporting to: Senior Resident Engineer

Additional Information Age N/A

Experience Previous experience in the Middle East would be an advantage. Experience in the use of modern survey equipment.

Languages Fluent spoken and written English. A working knowledge of Arabic would be an advantage.

Visa Requirements It is presently problematic to obtain Qataris visas for Syrian and Jordanian citizens.
