PRINCIPAL NEWS PIRATE DAY A big thank you to all the children and their parents/carers who went to such a huge effort to dress up for Pirate Day. It was great to see so many little pirates around the school so “un-pirate like”. We raised $293 for the Kids Cancer and we are very grateful to Mrs Baltetsch and the Junior School Council for organising such a successful event. CHOCOLATE DRIVE Today families who are participating in the Chocolate Drive will receive their box of chocolates. UPCOMING SCIENCE OPEN DAY TUESDAY 27TH JUNE We have organised an Open Afternoon where we invite all parents into the school for students to share their learning over this term. PARENTS AND FRIENDS FUNDRAISING CADBURY CHOCOLATES FUNDRAISER This terms fundraiser is our Cadbury's Chocolates. Chocolates will be sent home today, Wednesday the 14th June. Money may be returned to the front office at any stage once chocolates are sold, or by the 17th July (first day of term 3) at the latest, giving you the school holidays to get out and sell them. If you don’t want chocolates, please return box straight away. If you didn’t receive a box of chocolates and would like one, please come to the office. TWILIGHT FAIR- Friday 17th November, 4-8pm Thanks to those who have returned their Fair notes with kind offers of assistance and support and ideas on what you would like to see improved around our school. Taking all of your ideas on board, we will be looking to upgrade and improve our outdoor play areas with Fair Fundraising money, something that ALL students will benefit from. A large event such as our Twilight Fair requires many hands on deck. It would still be great if we could have one member from each family (Mum, Dad, Aunt, Uncle, Grandparent) to volunteer an hour of their time on the night to serve at stalls. We will have 8 stalls plus food that we need to fill rosters for, so we still need a lot more help. We have attached the note again to hopefully get some more families on board for this wonderful event. We will fill rosters closer to the time but if we could all give an hour it will really help out. Thank you. Market Stalls We have previously had Market Stalls at our Fair and we are looking for someone to organise and manage this again this year. There has already been a lot of interest for Market Stalls but we need someone to co-ordinate this- organise stall hold-ers, paperwork for stalls, contact stall holders, etc. Could you please contact the front office if you are able to assist with this and we will be in touch. Thanks. Sponsors/Donations We are seeking some major sponsors for our big raffle we will be running this year. First prize in our major raffle is a holiday for four to The Gold Coast!! If you or anyone you know may be able to help out with this, please contact the office. Sponsors logo will be printed on all 300+ raffle tickets and on all Fair advertising. We are also seeking Silent Auction items- vouchers, services, goods, etc, please let us know if you can help. Have a great week Gab Lewis

TWILIGHT FAIR Fri 17th Nov, 4-8pm

Dear Parents/Guardians, As you are probably aware, this year is FAIR YEAR!! We are looking for suggestions on where this year’s fair money can be spent. Upgrades to facilities, new equipment, improvements to the school, etc. In previous years we have used funds to upgrade playgrounds, resurface the oval, replace shade sails and build an undercover bike shed. Our Twilight Fairs over the past 5 years have been an extremely fun and entertaining night for all of the family and have been very successful fundraisers for our school- last time raising over $12,000. Where would you like to see the money go???? Please list suggestions below: _______________________________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________________________ To make this a successful fair, we need your help. All families are expected to help in some way. We need help in many ways- to setup on the day, help to run activities or serve on stalls on the night, help to prepare or cook food, help in the lead up to the fair with organisation and so much more. We are also looking for help with sourcing donations. If you are able to donate anything (eg. food, vouchers, raffle prizes, silent auction items, supplies for the night), please either list details below on the form, or see the lovely ladies at the office. Alternatively, you may have contacts of business’ or organisations that may be able to make a donation. Your work place, someone you know who runs a business, a business you have an affiliation with- Please ask them!! We can provide you with a letter from the school with all necessary information. Please return the section below, indicating where you can assist, by next Monday, 8th May. We need to know there are enough helpers on board before we move ahead with the organising of the Fair. Thank you for supporting the school’s major Fundraiser that will benefit all of our children.
