2. Based on the accepted rates, the total value of contract works out to 4,64,100/- (Rupees four

lakhs sixty four thousand and one hundred only).Your attention in this connection is invited tothe various conditions stipulated by the Railway in the tender and signed by you.

3. The security deposit to be remitted by you is 23,205/- (Five percent of the contract value).

The sum of 7,740/- remitted through DD No.080679 dated. 05.08.2014 issued by Bank ofBaroda, Sakinaka, Mumbai towards earnest money will be provisionally kept as security deposit

till the equivalent amount recovered from the 10 % of the running bills.4. The balance security deposit amount of 15,465/- will be recovered at the rate of 10% of the

running bills only. No other mode of payment shall be accepted. No interests will accrue on theSecurity Deposit Amount.

5. In addition to that, you have to submit irrevocable Bank guarantee for 5% of the contract valuei.e. 23,205/- from the Nationalized/Scheduled Banks/ only towards performance guaranteebefore signing of agreement or in cash to be remitted through Sr.Divisionalcashier/S.Rly/Tiruchchirappalli. FDR towards performance guarantee may be drawn in favour of

Sr.Divisional finance manager, Southern Railway, Tiruchchirappalli. The performanceguarantee bond should be valid up to stipulated date of completionplus 60 days beyond that.

6. The successful bidder shall have to submit a Performance Guarantee (PG) within 30 (thirty)days from the date of issue of Letter Of Acceptance (LOA). Extension of time for submission ofPG beyond 30 (thirty) days and upto 60 days from the date of issue of LOA may be given by theAuthority who is competent to sign the contract agreement. However, a penal interest of 15% perannum shall be charged for the delay beyond 30 (thirty) days, i.e. from 31st day after the date ofissue of LOA. In case the contractor fails to submit the requisite PG even after 60 days from thedate of issue of LOA, the contract shall be terminated duly forfeiting EMD and other dues, if any payable against that contract. The failed contractor shall be debarred from participating in re-tender for that work.

6 (i) This LOA is the due notice for submission of PG and no further communication will be sentto you reminding for submission of PG. In case of failure to submit PG with in the stipulated dateaction will be taken under clause 16(4) of GCC is final and binding.

7. The work will have to be completed with in Three months from the date of issue of this letter.You should submit a programme of work in suitable proforma within 10 days of receipt of thisletter in consultation with the Assistant Divisional Engineer/ Thanjavur.

8. The letter of acceptance issued is binding contract between Railways and the contractor andthe date of completion will be reckoned from the date of issue of this letter only and therefore youmay please make arrangements to commence the work immediately.

9. Please attend this office on any working day to execute the agreement duly ProducingPerformance Bank Guarantee as stated in para.5.

10. Please commence the work within fifteen days form the date of receipt of this letter inconsultation with Senior Section Engineer/ P.way / Thanjavur, Kumbakonam &

A/Thiruvarur.

11. In addition to the above, the other terms and conditions given in the tender documentsubmitted along with your offer will also be applicable and the contract agreement to be signed byyou will be replica of the same.

NOTE

1.0 SITE OF WORK: The sites of work are at various locations in Senior Section Engineer/Permanentway/Kumbakonam, Thanjavr and A- Thiruvarur sections listed vide Annexure attached.

The Tenderer should satisfy himself with the site conditions and facilities available before submitting thetender at his own cost.

2.0 SCOPE OF WORK : The work involves

The work involves transportation, reconditioning and renewing the CMS crossings and other connectedworks with contractor's men, materials as specified , tools and plant etc complete as per Railway'sschedule, specifications, Manuals and special conditions.

3.0 SCHEDULE :

3.1 This schedule contains only one schedule for items not covered by Unified Standard Schedule of rates2011.

The tenderer/Contractor shall quote unit rate in words in bold “CAPITAL LETTERS” besides figures foreach item of schedule separately only in the space provided as tabulation with squares in the schedule forfilling up of rates. Please do not leave any of the squares left blank but may be filled up with letters and

Indian numerals as the case may be or mark `X’ suitably in each square if not applicable.

If the rate quoted by the Tenderer/contractor is stated differently in figures and in words, then the ratequoted in words shall prevail.

The quantity furnished in the schedule is only approximate and may vary during execution. Payment will be made for the actual work done as per agreement conditions.

3.2.1 Special conditions of contract: Safety at work site, contract policy, site clearance, track works andreconditioning of Points and crossings attached vide annexure.

3.2.2 RDSO Manual for reconditioning of Medium Manganese (MM) Steel Points & Crossings, SwitchExpansion Joints (SEJs) and Cast Manganese Steel (CMS) crossings – 1996 shall be followed as

applicable.
