A decimal can be rounded off toone, two or three decimal places.
1. 0.726 when rounded off to onedecimal place becomes 0.7 .
EXAMPLE :-
Digit 2 is less than 5. So, digit 7 ismaintained . Discard any otherdigits on the right of the tenths
place.
2. 3.269 when rounded off to twodecimal places becomes 3.27 .
The digit 9 is more than 5. So, add
1 to the digit in the hundredthsplace.
