Introduction

Due to its criticality, SU01 authorization will have to be restricted only to the Security team members. Even though the authorization is provided to L1/Frontline support consultants, their authorization is limited to a specific User groups. This is due to the user maintenance authorizations that they get.

This article explains you the procedure to create a custom SU01 transaction code only with Display and Password reset buttons to enable the L1/Frontline team to accept the basic requests such as User Information, and Password reset requests.

Procedure

Create a transaction variant

The first step is to create a transaction variant. Below are the steps to create the transaction variant with the options that are required.

1. Goto SHD0

2. Enter SU01 as Transaction code

3. Enter Transaction Variant name (Example: ZSU01)

4. Click Create button

5. To view the Screen entire window, enter the User name

6. Click Change.

This will display the Confirm Screen Entries screen as shown below:

7. Enter short text for screen variant

8. Click button

9. Expand Menu Bar Users and click the 1st listed option (For eg: CREA)

10. Click button

11. Repeat the same for all the other options such as CHAN, COPY, DELE, RENU, and LOCK

NOTE: If you wish to keep any buttons, don’t mask them.

12. Click

13. Click button

14. Click Save icon

Once the Transaction variant is saved, proceed with the below steps to create a custom transaction code.

15. Goto SE93 Transaction code

16. Enter the transaction code name as “Z_PASSWORD_RESET”

17. Click Create icon

18. Enter Short text for the transaction code

19. Select “Transaction with variant (variant transaction) option.

20. Enter SU01 as transaction code

21. Enter ZSU01 as the Transaction variant (the variant name that was entered in step 3)

22. Click Save.

Now you can view only Display and Password reset buttons as shown in the below screen:
