The Brown County Rural WaterAssociation received this year’s DruckerAward of Excellence and Dr. Ned Lodwick was recognized with the Lifetime AchievementAward. With almost 220 people in attendance, it was one of the most successful yet. Our next breakfast will be totally different and will be free. The Chamber will host a benefits fair at the Gaslight Theatre onWednesday, Feb. 27. “What’s in it for me? Why should I join the Chamber?” are two of the questions that we hear a lot. Many members join for the networking opportunities, like the Business Breakfast and even the regular monthly meetings. Others join for the dis- counts on health insurance and workers comp. The Brown County Chamber of Commerce is a member of the Southern Ohio Chamber Alliance and it is through that affiliation that we are able to offer those discounts. That affiliation also gives our mem- bers nine other programs to help reduce their bottom line. Representatives of each of the benefit providers will be on hand to explain their programs and how they can help your bottom line. Worstcase scenario, you get breakfast. You will also find out addi- tional savings for your business. Call Adrienne at the Chamber at (937) 378-4784 and reserve your free spot. One of the presenters at the Benefits Fair will be Hunter Consulting, the administra- tor for our Workers Comp Group Rating Program. But the deadline for joining this year will be before the breakfast on Feb. 20. This is an opportunity to save about 50 percent of the regular state fee. Call Adrienne at the Chamber and she will put you in touch with Tammy Purcell of Hunter so that you can enroll in the program and start saving. We have been sending a weekly eNewsletter to all our members on Mondays. The deadline is 10 a.m. Monday for publication that afternoon. The feedback on it has been positive. The most common response was having all the Chamber email in one place is handy and more people tend to read it. Our next projects are the annual golf outing and the business expo. The committees for these events are being formed now so if you would like to volunteer to help or if you have any suggestions give the Chamber a call at (937) 378-4784. We want to thank all of the members who attended last week’s two ribbon cuttings at Active Living Chiropractic and Farrell Inc. It was a great turn out and we thank all of you who attended and make these events so often requested. Thank you. Our next meeting will be 8 a.m. Feb. 21 at The Home Place in Georgetown.
