Dear Parents, Yr 5/6 Market Our 5/6 students provided an outstanding Market Day for our school community last week as a culmination of their unit of work; ‘Business and Enterprise’. All week the Yr 1-4 students were excited in their build up to the Market Day and spent their savings on all the stalls with many selling out of stock early into the sales period. Food, toys, games and ARTS were the themes for the stalls with all proceeds contributing to the Yr 6 Graduation. Congratulations to all Senior Students for their entrepreneurial talents, leadership and business sense. Rotary Assembly presenting awards to Yr 6 Community Awardees It was a pleasure to host Roger Oates, representing Rotary Club of Frankston, at our assembly on Friday. Ron attended to present nine (9)Yr 6 students a framed certificate to acknowledge and recognise their completion of the Junior Rotary Community Award throughout this year. This involved significant hours of cultural, community, sport and social work, which presented an opportunity to work within the local community in a voluntary capacity. I commend all on their excellent efforts to achieve a certificate of success. I hope you continue to embed your interests within the school community for the future. Canteen—commencing 7 Feb 2020 It is most exciting to announce our canteen will return to our school at the beginning of 2020. Every Friday, commencing 7 February, our students will have the choice of ordering a lunch order through an online system with meals delivered to the school in individually named packages. Please find a flyer with this newsletter with details. Further information will be provided at the beginning of next year. I hope all families have a wonderful weekend. Kind Regards, Mrs Clark
No Assembly being held on Friday 13th December.
Final Assembly for 2019 will be held at 2.00pm on Thursday 19th December.
2020 students leaders will be announced at our final assembly
SUNSMART Dear parents,
We have attached our Sun Smart Policy to this
newsletter and it is available on our school
website. As the weather becomes warmer we ask parents to please
provide their child with a roll of sunscreen in their school bags. We also
recommend getting your child to apply their own sunscreen in the morning
before they come to school during the ‘Sun Smart Season’. Please be
mindful of the UV Index each day as this can be quite high, even on
overcast days. Please note, teachers are not permitted to apply sun screen
to any students.
RESTORATIVE PRACTISES Don’t forget to visit the Real Schools website for
resources on Restorative Practises. There are some great articles and
webinars that our staff are tapping in to. You can access them all. Just
head to the Member Login tab at www.realschools.com.au and use the
login/password frankstonhps to have a look at all that we’re working on at
school.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I would like to wish all our parents and school community a very happy
Christmas and New Year. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank
you to not only our Friends of Heights and School Council committees, but
to all our parents for your support this year. It has been a wonderful year.
I hope you all have a very happy and safe holiday. I would like to wish all
our grade sixes a great start to their life at Secondary school. They have
been a fabulous group of human beings and I am sure they will continue to
make us proud.
