The 11th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre, Dehradun was held on 27.10.2013 (Sunday) at 17.00 hrs in the premises of IEI UKSC Dehradun..

Minutes of brief discussions are as under:
Er. J.P. Tomar, Chairman extended warm welcome to the Corporate Members of IEI, UKSC, Dehradun.
1. Conformation of the Minutes of the Meeting (MOM) of 10th Annual General Body Meeting (AGM) of the IEI, UKSC, Dehradun: Proceedings of 10th Annual General Body (AGM) meeting were already circulated. Since no comments were received, the minutes of the 10th AGM were approved.
2. Presentation of the Annual Report of the IEI, UKSC, Dehradun for the year 2012-2013: The annual report of the IEI, UKSC, Dehradun for the year 2012-2013 was circulated, read and presented by Er. Anant Bhaskar Garg, Honorary Secretary, IEI, UKSC, Dehradun, the members appreciated the excellent efforts taken by the Executive Committee (E.C.) members, under the dynamic Chairmanship of Er. J.P. Tomar. Website updated, State Centre Quarterly News Letter was published and several Seminars/Workshops/Symposium/ Technical visits and Technical Lectures, to name a few, were organized during the tenure 2012-13 and the same was approved by the House.
3. Presentation of the audited report and the balance sheet: The audited report of the IEI, UKSC, Dehradun for the year 2012-2013 was presented by Er. Anant Bhaskar Garg, Honorary Secretary, IEI, UKSC, Dehradun. The discussed and accepted.
4. Appointment of auditors and fixing their remuneration for the year 2012-2013: The appointment of M/s Sachin Rastogi & Co. (Office No. 57/10, Rajpur Road, Ziladhish Marg, Dehradun) was approved as auditors for the IEI, UKSC, Dehradun was approved by the house for the year 2013-2014 @ Rs. 14,800.00 (Rupees Fourteen thousand eight hundred only). The auditors will be charging separately for auditing of any additional other works other than the routine work.
5. Er. S.A. Khan Memorial Lecture: Er. Umesh Kumar, Chief Engineer Incharge, State Engineer’s Academy, Kalagarh delivered Late Er. S.A. Khan memorial lecture on “Retrofitting of Masonry Building in Uttarakhand” which was highly appreciated by the corporate members present in the meeting.
Since there was no other business, the meeting concluded with the vote of thanks to the Chairman.

All India Workshop on “Disaster Awareness and Management in Hilly Region” was organized on 9 August, 2014 by The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre (UKSC) under the aegis of Civil Engineering Division Board (CVDB), IEI, Kolkata and Disaster Awareness & Management Cell (DAMC), IEI, Kolkata . Er. Ashok Kumar Basa, FIE, President, IEI, Kolkata inaugurated the workshop in the presence of distinguished guests and dignitaries on 9th August, 2014. Er. C.M. Dimri, FIE, Chairman, Acting (Elect), IEI, Uttarakhand State Centre, Dehradun, Er. H.C.S. Berry, FIE, Chairman, Civil Engineering Division Board, IEI, Kolkata, Er. Narendra Singh, Council Member, IEI, Dr. U. Chandrashekhar, FIE, Director, Engineering Staff College of India, Hyderabad, Prof. Chandan Bose, Head, NIDM, Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi, Prof. Rajesh Chandra, IIT, Roorkee, Er. S.C. Goyal, FIE, Director, Disaster Awareness & Management Cell (DAMC) and Er. D.C. Gupta, FIE, Honorary Secretary (Elect), IEI, Uttarakhand State Centre, Dehradun were present amongst the distinguished dignitaries at the Dias. Inaugurating the workshop. Er. Ashok Kumar Basa, President, IEI, Kolkata stressed on priority given to Three Ps i.e. Planning, Preparedness and Presentation along with Three i.e. Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction. Brain storming technical session was held by eminent experts like Dr. Bhupendra Singh, IIT, Roorkee, Dr. Sajid M. Ansari, CEO, PIPL, Roorkee, Prof. Satyendra Mittal, IIT, Roorkee, Er. S.P. Agarwal, ISRO & Dr. Achal Mittal, CBRI, Roorkee etc. The workshop was attended by over 250 participants including engineers from all part of the state and various organizations/departments of Uttarakhand. Er. Anant Bhaskar Garg, Honorary Secretary, The Institution of Engineers (India), Uttarakhand State Centre, Dehradun proposed “Vote of Thanks” to all guests and participants.Appreciation of Co-operation
The help and support received by the Uttarakhand State Centre from The Institution of Engineers (India), Kolkata, UJVNL, PWD, Irrigation, Jal Sansthan, Peyjal Nigam, UPCL, and other organization in carrying out various activities is appreciatively recognized. I would like to place on record my truthful thanks and express my gratitude and appreciation to all members and staff members of the Centre for their co-operation, assistance, and untiring efforts in successfully organizing programme during the period under report. I also express my heartfelt indebtedness to eminent personalities who have delivered talks and have participated in various activities of the Centre.
