On-line Speech Language Pathology & Occupational Therapy
Through the use of web conferencing CTP provides virtual therapy, or “Teletherapy”, that is highly interactive, widely engaging, and highly efficient.
Therapists provide assessment, intervention, and collaboration with schools, family members, and health care personnel. Teletherapy has been shown to have results equivalent to on site face-to-face interaction. It is an innovative program recognized and approved as an appropriate model of service delivery by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and American Occupational Therapy Association.
Teletherapy Advantages
• Cost-efficient; drastically reduces travel expenses. • High tech experience; students/clients use the latest in web
conferencing sites, therapy software, and interactive websites. • Reaches patients that don’t have access to therapy services in their
communities.
Teletherapy Client Requirements
• Ability to maintain focus/attention for 10+ minutes and participate in therapy activities.
• Physical ability to uphold a sitting or standing position throughout the session.
• Ability to follow basic instructions. • Few computer skills required. • Learning coach (parent, para-educator, etc.) supervision during
session to assist with therapy task requirements or technical requirements as needed.

You may find yourself in the kitchen more often during the holiday season baking or cooking for various parties or events. Baking with your little one is a great opportunity to work on their speech & language skills.

You can also target spatial concepts during a baking activity such as the word “in” (“Can you help me put the chocolate chips in the bowl?”), “on” (“Let’s put sprinkles on the cookies”), and “off” (“Now we need to take the cookies off the baking sheet”).
There are limitless opportunities to target speech and language while engaging in a fun activity like baking!
