Our pilot training courses are rigorously conducted by

PROGRAMS

RADIO TELEPHONY RESTRICTED (AERONAUTICAL)Radio Telephony Restricted (Aeronautical) Examination is conducted by Wireless Planning Wing (WPC) of Ministry of Communications. It is a transmission paper taken by the Ministry of Communications and on passing a Certificate of Proficiency (COP) is issued by its WPC wing.

NIGHT RATINGThis qualification enables a pilot to perform night flying operations. To qualify for this, the trainee pilot needs to fly the DGCA prescribed minimum night flying hours to be substantiated with a Check Ride.

INSTRUMENT RATINGInstrument Rating is an integral flying instruction program that qualifies the trainee pilot to fly in non visual weather conditions through the facilitation of the various on board guiding instruments. This instrument rating course comprises of in-flight practical experience as well as pre-flight theoretical classes on Instrument Rating.

INSTRUCTOR RATINGThis is an advanced course specifically designed for those aspiring to be Flight Instructors. Achieving a Flight Instructor rating means one has demonstrated a level of flying ability and knowledge such that one is now qualified to train others and be paid for it. Many career pilots use Flight Instruction as a great way to build flying hours while getting paid.

INFRASTRUCTURE

AIRCRAFTS AND AIRCRAFTS MAINTENANCE SET UP

GATI possesses a fleet of well maintained aircrafts with valid certification of airworthiness. GATI has a DGCA approved Maintenance Organisation with qualified technicians and mechanics. GATI also has a dedicated, well organized and structured workshop for aircraft maintenance as well as inventory of aircraft spares thereby ensuring that the aircrafts are rarely grounded for lack of spares, thus ensuring uninterrupted flying training.

AIR STRIPS

GATI has a unique advantage of having access to three runways at different locations for flying operations. The airstrips are at Bhubaneswar, Hirakund and Gopalpur. This allows for flying regularity to GATI's student pilots obviating any bottlenecks due to runway availability or weather fluctuations, thereby enabling the students and their instructors to continue flying with minimum of disruptions.

The academy also houses a well resourced library with a wide choice of text books in aircraft flying theory, modern flying techniques, air and ground rules and regulations, etc. The library also stores aviation magazines containing important information on new developments in avionics, aerodynamics, jet propulsion and a host of related features.

GATI provides secure, furnished and decent accommodation for pilot trainees, both boys and girls. The accommodations are located in good neighborhoods and within close proximity to the academy.

Government Aviation Training Institute (GATI) offers a wide range of industry leading Pilot Training Programs. These Programs are approved by Directorate General Civil Aviation (DGCA) and meet the International Standards of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

CPL GROUND SCHOOLThis involves the mandatory study of DGCA approved theory and is a vital part of Pilot Training. In this regards a thorough familiarization of the pre-flying theory sessions gain importance as it considerably reduces the overall training time. The DGCA Ground classes cover the following subjects:

lEligibility : Class 12 lDuration : 3-4 Months

STUDENT PILOT'S LICENSE (SPL)Students need to qualify for the DGCA prescribed SPL through a test conducted by the Chief Flying Instructor ( CFI ) and Chief Ground Instructor ( CGI ) in association with an officer from DGCA. SPL authorizes students to initiate their flying training course and on their completion of the stipulated qualifying criteria, students are then eligible to secure a Private Pilot’s License (PPL) and / or a Commercial Pilot’s License (CPL).

lEligibility: Class 10 lDuration: 1.5-2 Months

PRIVATE PILOT'S LICENSE (PPL)The qualification of this license authorizes a pilot to non-commercially fly aircrafts as endorsed on the license. Additionally, PPL licensee can also fly at night with Night and Instrument ratings. A candidate has to pass the examination conducted by DGCA in Ground Subjects and have a minimum of 40 Flying hours to get this license.

lEligibility : Class 10 lDuration : 5-7 Months

COMMERCIAL PILOT'S LICENSE (CPL)The qualifying criterion for this license necessarily involves an elaborate instruction of piloting management by highly qualified and skilled flight instructors with a minimum flight training of 200 hours, on single engine and/or multi engine aircrafts. On successful completion of the CPL, the pilot can apply for employment with commercial airlines- domestic or international, Charter companies, Corporates, Govt. bodies etc.
