THE YEAR OF FAITH AÑO DE LA FE RESPECT LIFE

“Respect Life month is the month of October.”The following activities

are scheduled as follows:

November 2/3rd: Collect Baby Banks

STEWARDSHIP / CORRESPONSABILIDAD

All Moses had to do was to raise an arm. So firm was his faith that, when he

raised his hand, a plague would come on Egypt. Raise his arm and the Red Sea would part; lower it and the sea closed over the Egyptians. Although his faith was strong, his arm would weaker just like any man’s. So, Exodus reports Aaron and Hur propped up his arm until Joshua defeated Amalek (EX 17: 8-13).

Timothy charges us to “be persistent whether it is convenient or inconvenient; convince, reprimand, encourage through all patience and teaching” (2 TIM 4: 2). The Perpetual Adoration Ministry invites all to participate in and volunteer in persistent prayer 24/7 before the Holy Eucharist in our warm serene Chapel of Our Lady of San Juan de Los Lagos, a chapel built from the very stones that housed Santa Cruz Church in the past, a sign of our persistence and continuity in faith.

Welcome! ~ ¡Bienvenidos! / New Members to Santa Cruz!

We are so grateful for our New Parishioners. If you know them, please help us welcome them! Below are the New Members for the previous weeks:

Démosles las bienvenida a nuestros nuevos miembros:

Year of Faith“Lord, make me an instrument of peace…” Peace begins in each per-son’s heart. Peace cannot exist where there is hatred, contempt, distrust, division, and discrimination of our neighbor. As Christians, we have a duty and an obligation to work for peace. How do your thoughts and actions reveal that you believe in peace? In what ways do Scripture and the teachings of the church inspire you be a person of peace?

Society of St. Vincent de Paul Santa Cruz Conference Angel Tree Project

The Santa Cruz Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is planning for our annual Angel Tree Event.

The major focus of this project is to provide a spiritual framework of the Christmas Season for children of families in need. This is accomplished by inviting the families into our parish hall for a celebration of the birth of Jesus which will include gift giving by the children to the Baby Jesus, a shared meal, singing, and distribution of gifts to the children. As usual our conference members will select the families and children from our case work. If you are aware of a family in need in the Santa Cruz Parish please encourage them to contact us at (512) 415-4012.

The Church Narthex display of the Angel Tree and Angel Tags will be after Thanksgiving, the weekend of Nov. 30 and Dec. 1, 2013. Information regarding the financials of the Santa Cruz SVDP conference for the fiscal year ended Sept. 30, 2013 will be published in the bul-letin during November. Thanks you for your prayers and generosity. Our prayers are with you.
