Exporters worried over foreign fund inflow•Foreign capital inflows that helped

equities markets rally handsomely in the second half of 2010 and led to a sharp rise in the rupee has now forced exporters and analysts seeking government intervention in curbing such inflows.

•According to Bloomberg data, the rupee gained 5.3 percent in the past month as global funds poured in over $23 billion in stocks and $10 billion in the debt market .

started gaining strength with one of the largest software exporter Infosys seeking the Reserve Bank of India's intervention.

• The benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), the Sensex, has rallied over 15 percent in 2010, backed by the $23 billion of funds pumped in by foreign financial institutions.

Volvo Cars India to launch SUV next month•Luxury car maker Volvo Cars India will launch

the compact Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) Volvo XC60 on November 24 to strengthen its presence in the domestic market.

•With the launch of this model, the company forays into the compact luxury Sports Utility Vehicle segment. Besides, the firm had also planned to expand its offering in the domestic automarket.

Glaxo to step up capacity for elephantiasis drug production•British drugmaker GlaxoSmithKline (GSK)

will increase its capacity to make a drug for the treatment of elephantiasis at its manufacturing facility in Nasik and its South African plant.

•The two units have a combined capacity to produce 600 million units per annum of the drug, all of which is donated by the company to global health organisations. The firm now intends to increase this to 1 billion units annually.

Nokia Siemens, Ericsson to help Voda’s 3G rollout•Sweden’s Ericsson and Finland-

headquartered Nokia Siemens Networks will roll out 3G networks for Vodafone Essar , one of the largest service providers in India.

•Vodafone gave a three-year contract estimated at $500 million, to the gear manufacturers who are also the company’s existing equipment vendors.

Sumitomo to buy Suzlon Energy's Belgian unit• Belgium-based Hansen Transmissions, in which

Indian wind turbine major Suzlon Energy holds a 26% stake, will sell its industrial gearbox-making unit to Japan’s Sumitomo Heavy Industries in an all-cash transaction.

• The proposed transaction values Hansen Industrial Transmissions NV at e75 million (Rs 463 crore) on a cash and debt-free basis, before costs that will be incurred and borne by Hansen Transmissions in connection with the restructuring of HIT prior to completion of the proposed transaction
