The concept of a vision trip has been around for many years. When missionaries and or mission teams are headed into another country there should be a basic plan for the work that needs to be done. This vision trip is designed to explore the needs of those our mission team will be working with. What will we be doing on this trip? We will arrive in El Salvador on Thursday, October 17th. I will be preaching at mulple churches while in the country; the exact number is not set at this point. At this point, I know I will be preaching at three different churches: one in San Juan Nonualco, one in San Salvador (El Salvador’s capital), one in a small community that is a church plant. At each of these churches we will be exploring the needs of the church and who we feel God leading us to partner with. We will spend me walking through the communies, speaking with the people and sharing the gospel. We will be looking at the logiscs of doing ministry in each community. Are we able to meet their needs? We will be looking at hotels and transportaon for the future mission team. We will be looking for possible places to acquire supplies in the country (This is usually cheaper than bringing in supplies); and mulple other logiscal needs. Why El Salvador? From 2007-2011 I lead mulple mission teams into El Salvador, I have mulple contacts within the country and have been speaking with them throughout this process. The country is relavely safe for travel (as in any countries there are places to avoid). El Salvador’s currency is the US Dollar. The cost of taking a mission trip to El Salvador is relavely cheap in comparison to most other internaonal opportunies. The cost will most likely be around $1,000-$1,200 per person depending on flights and hotel cost. How can I help? At this point, I would ask for prayer. Pray for clarity as we are on this vision trip so that we can understand the needs and who we should partner with. Pray that God is preparing the right individuals to serve God on future mission trips to El Salvador. Pray for how you may be able to help. In October Dalton Baker and I will spend a few days in El Salvador on a Vision trip. Some of you may have already heard about this trip and have been asking ques"ons like: What is a vison trip? What will they be doing on this trip? Why El Salvador? How can I help? I would like to try and answer these ques"ons.

What is a vision trip?

The concept of a vision trip has been around for many years. When missionaries and or mission teams are headed into another country there should be a basic plan for the work that needs to be done. What has happened with missionaries and mission teams is they make a plan and show up in another country without knowing what is needs. They may show up with good inten"ons, but their well-intended plans are misplaced and may even hinder the gospel. This vision trip is designed to explore the needs of those our mission team will be working with.

What will we be doing on this trip?

We will arrive in El Salvador on Thursday, October 17th. I will be preaching at mul"ple churches while in the country; the exact number is not set at this point. At this point, I know I will be preaching at three different churches: one in San Juan Nonualco, one in San Salvador (El Salvador’s capital), one in a small community that is a church plant. At each of these churches we will be exploring the needs of the church and who we feel God leading us to partner with. We will spend "me walking through the communi"es, speaking with the people and sharing the gospel.

We will be looking at the logis"cs of doing ministry in each community. Are we able to meet their needs? We will be looking at hotels and transporta"on for the future mission team. We will be looking for possible places to acquire supplies in the country (This is usually cheaper than bringing in supplies); and mul"ple other logis"cal needs.

Why El Salvador?

From 2007-2011 I lead mul"ple mission teams into El Salvador, I have mul"ple contacts within the country and have been speaking with them throughout this process. The country is rela"vely safe for travel (as in any countries there are places to avoid). El Salvador’s currency is the US Dollar. The cost of taking a mission trip to El Salvador is rela"vely cheap in comparison to most other interna"onal opportuni"es.

God can do amazing things through those who are willing to serve. Pastor Steven

From time to time, we – your church staff - will bring in a guest musical group to per-form. We like to do this for several reasons:

1. A visiting group brings a worship music style we may not be able to duplicate here.

2. A visiting group may at-tract people from outside our church to come and hear them, giving us an oppor-tunity to interact with believ-ers and non-believers from elsewhere in a worship set-ting.

3. Sometimes it’s great to simply come together to be inspired by an evening of music dedicated to God.

On Sunday evening October 27 the local gospel quartet Renewed will be singing at HSBC. Many of you have heard them sing in places around the area and that night they will be here to sing for us. So, invite your friends to come to HSBC for an evening of gospel music and fun as they not only en-tertain, but bring us a wor-ship experience in song.

See you in worship!

Hamilton Street Women's Minis-

try is excited to share with you

about a fun upcoming event!

We are partnering with Lifeline

Pregnancy Help Clinic to host a

baby shower for one of their cli-

ents through their new program

“Showers of His Grace”. The

shower will take place at Lifeline

Pregnancy Help Clinic. We plan

to shower this mother and baby

with giGs in celebra"on! During

this fun "me, we can also share

the love of Christ, tell her about

Hamilton Street Bap"st Church,

and invite her to come take part

in the services we have to offer!

In an effort to ensure that the

client is comfortable, Lifeline

has decided to hold the baby

shower at the clinic, with HSBC

as the host. This gives us the op-

portunity to meet the mother

and interact with her in a way

that is not scary or judgmental,

but accep"ng, caring, and Christ

-like! We hope to lessen the

anxie"es that come with a new

baby by providing for the clients

immediate needs, but also by

offering support through our

community at HSBC long term!

The client is having a baby boy

and she plans to name him Eli-

jah. Elijah’s nursery theme is

“north woods” (foxes, bears,

raccoons, pine trees, etc.). You

can find a list of needed items

that has been prepared by the

mother located on the table in

the foyer. Please feel free to get

Saturday Oct. 12th

11:00 a.m. @ HSBC

Bring your lunch and enjoy a

time of fellowship!

items that aren't on this list as

well. Lifeline has provided her

with a pack and play and a car

seat. Other than that, she

doesn’t have a lot of items.

Women’s Ministry has pur-

chased a Bible for the mother,

as well as Elijah!

We hope that you will join us

Thursday, October 17th be-

tween 5:15 pm - 6:15 pm. We

will meet at Lifeline Pregnancy

Help Clinic, which is located

1515 North New Street in Kirks-

ville. During the shower, there

will be games, ac"vi"es, and

cupcakes! It is likely that baby

Elijah will be in aNendance, as

he is due to arrive before the

date of the shower! Please also

feel free to bring extra treats! If

you cannot aNend, but would

s"ll like to give a giG or provide

a treat, please leave it at the ta-

ble in the foyer!

This is such a great opportunity

for HSBC to reach outside of the

walls of our church! What could

be more fun than loving on a

new mom and baby?!

BSU Here & Now…

It has been so encouraging how good God is!

The school year began here and we have goNen to have so many interac"ons and conversa"ons with so many who believe there is something out there but are not sure just what to believe. We have been on campus a lot these past 3 weeks of the new semester and it is so exci"ng to have con-versa"ons with students who are atheist, agnos"c, and just trying to figure things out and what (or who as we would say it) to give their life to and we have been en-couraged by so many other be-lievers on this campus as they share how good and impacQul our efforts are. One junior stu-dent just shared on his own how much our work and language have been so meaningful and that we are not alone even if we are small and he is a part of a much larger campus ministry.

Our students con"nue to make disciples with other students and as of right now there are 14 stu-dents being discipled inten"onally every week between me and our leadership students. And I love how much our students keep en-gaging and bringing other stu-dents to the local churches. We have several who have mee"ngs or clubs on Thursday nights and cannot make it to our weekly stu-

dent worship, and I am so thrilled actually, because our goal is to always make disciples and grow the church. So I love that we are more about what does not hap-pen in front of a microphone, but the inten"onal serving and shar-ing and invi"ng that is happening among them and how they are connec"ng other students to the local churches.

There have been conversa"ons around others wan"ng to grow and be more involved with our mission and conversa"ons that go deep into a persons desire to keep becoming more Christ like. The conversa"ons have been so encouraging. And it has been re-ally wonderful to see God mee"ng us as we keep just trying to reach our campus, thru seeing a worship team not just grow from zero (with several seniors gradua"ng and underclassmen not sure if they could help again) to now 6 students. And the cool-est thing is that one of them is a new believer who gave her life to Jesus here with this community over a year ago now, and one has been going thru cancer treatment this summer and is back, and 3 wanted to step up and do more for God at the end of spring, and are becoming such Godly leaders today. It has been just amazing to see God be so loving and kind as we tried to keep moving forward as we would meet and have con-versa"ons with students back in the last days of the spring semes-ter, and then get to see how He was always moving and always taking us somewhere we did not know about yet. I love how if we just risk for Him, God meets us in the risk; it has been beau"ful to see.

There is so much more but to end would be to share how awesome God is and how much we have to just keep going…and not quiSng. There is a student who graduated who never gave her life to Christ but just 2 weeks s ago messaged us, because she is like a 2nd daughter, and shared a picture of the church she is going to “this is now my church home”. And then this past week shared she is in a bible study with several other students in her grad program. We are praying she will cross the line of faith and give her life to Jesus…and become a part of His revolu"on. And then to hear of another interna"onal student who gave his life to Christ when he was here and is now back in his country and s"ll living for God. And so many we keep in touch with who are not trus"ng God…not yet…but we keep loving them and praying for them. It is the race that is long and we are just not given permission to quit on them yet even if they are not stu-dents, because God never will quit on anyone. Such a good good father!!

We will be on campus more and doing more with sorori"es and the cheerleaders and jewish group and just so many…and I can hardly wait because we really believe the world needs Jesus…and we actually love them no maNer where they are at right now. Because they are here now with us…and we fight for them all because God is figh"ng for us all to know HIM and reach a world with HIM.

Church Family,

It’s October! It’s that "me of year when we begin no"cing the beau"-

ful decora"on of colors we see in the dying leaves of the trees. It’s

one way that God displays his crea"vity in the midst of trees going

dormant for the winter. It’s also the "me of year when we give

thanks for the harvest that is so close on its way. So, in the midst of

death and cold we see God’s beauty and providen"al care for us.

God is our Provider and Sustainer in the harsh world we live in. We

know winter is coming, but God gives us the harvest to see us

through. One of the reasons we celebrate Thanksgiving is to “give

thanks” back to our Creator, Provider, and Sustainer. Psalm 54:4 says,

“Behold, God is my helper, the Lord is upholder of my life” (ESV). So,

during this beau"ful Fall season: consider how God takes care of His

own, and shows us His beau"ful handiwork at the same "me.

Our Youth Group has finalized a name. We are “The

FORGE” (FORever God Endures). Thank you for the con"nued prayers

that our vision/logo as a group helps make an impact in our communi-

ty. I have also been working on a New Member’s Class, along with

con"nuing discipleship for the church.

Thank you all for your service to the Kingdom.
