DefinitionThe Internet is a worldwide computer network, consisting of computers and networks that are linked using telephone lines, undersea cables,

satellite or microwave for the purpose of communication and sharing of resources.

Every computer that connects to the Internet or in a network must have its own unique IP (Internet Protocol) address that currently consists of 4 sets of digits separated by dots.
