Microsoft Office 365 is the new messaging and storage solution for the City of Edinburgh educational establishments. Office 365 is a cloud based suite of tools which allows collaboration and provides a considerable increase in storage space. Many of these tools are available as apps for mobile devices. Apps available in the App Store: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Sway

1. The App Store Search Office in the App Store to find the Office 365 Apps. Download any apps that you may need. The App Store has Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Sway.

2. a For your first Office app follow the instructions below: When you install an Office 365 app for the first time you will need to sign in. This step should be completed automatically for any additional apps downloaded later. The app will ask you for your email address. Remember to enter your email account in the form: Pupils: SCNnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk Staff: payrollnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk

It should redirect you to the Edinburgh log in page.

Once this is complete you should be logged in to Office 365 and should have access to files in your OneDrive, you can check this by trying to open a file from your OneDrive.

If OneDrive is not in the list then you can use Add a place

Choose OneDrive for Business and enter your school email in the format: Pupils: SCNnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk Staff: payrollnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk

You will be taken to the Edinburgh Office 365 login page, enter your usual name and password here. Once it has connected you should have access to all the files and folders on your OneDrive.

2.b Setting up additional apps on the iPad Additional apps should log onto Edinburgh Office 365 automatically. If this is not the case, follow the steps

above.

3. Setting up the OneDrive App Download the OneDrive App. Do not download the OneDrive for Business App.

It will prompt you for your email address, enter it in the format below: Pupils: SCNnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk Staff: payrollnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk

It will take you to the Edinburgh Office 365 login page. Use your usual login and password.

You should now be able to access the files in your OneDrive.

4. Email on iPad The Outlook app does not currently support Edinburgh Office 365 email addresses so we recommend that you use the Mail client on your iPad. If you would like to access People and Calendar from Outlook then we recommend that you access Outlook through your web browser via http://office365.edin.org and launching Mail.

Choose Office Exchange

Enter your email in the form: Pupils: SCNnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk Staff: payrollnumber@ea.edin.sch.uk Enter your usual password.

Tap Next and save your settings

You should now be able to access your email.
