Vidhiya “e a Rat a Thiru A.D.Jeya Veera Pandiya Nadar was commemorated on 09.12.14. Floral Homage was paid to the founder by the staff and students.

The III B.A.History students participated,

They were also taught the ancient
script and languages by Dr.P.Jayakumar. The

The Department inaugurated the Tamil Ilakkia Mandram and published the Magazine “Tamilzhosai” Dr.N.Dhanarajan, H.O.D of Tamil, Thiru.Vi.Ka. Govt Arts College, Tiruvarur was the Chief Guest.
He published “Tamilzhosai - 14” and gave a speech on ‘Expand Our Knowledge” Principal Dr.S.Mythili delivered the presidential Address. Dr.A.Dhanalakshmi, H.O.D of Tamil, welcomed the gatherings. R.Priyadharshini, the Secretary of the Association read the minutes of the previous meeting. R.Dheepa, the Joint Secretary of the Association proposed a vote of thanks. On 09.01.15, a programme entitled “Complete Knowledge about Thirukkural” was conducted by Committee Member of the Collectorate. Three students were selected.

Dr.T.Vasugi, Associate Professor of Tamil acted as Chief Guest for Thiyagigal Thinam on the topic is Gandhiji’s Thoughts on 30.01.15 at Bharathidasan University, Constituents Arts and Science College, Nagapattinam. On 05.02.15, Karaikal F.M All India Radio Organized Poem, Song competition and drama. Dr.T.Vasugi was the Co-ordinator. 7 students were participated. On 14.12.14, Dr.T.Vasugi, Associate Professor of Tamil got “Kavingar Vanisan Award 2014” awarded by World Tamil Paravai, Karaikal. On 14.12.14, Dr.T.Vasugi, Associate Professor of Tamil presented a paper on “Chilappathikarathil Nokku” in the International Conference on “Erattaikappiangal and Muthuthollayiram” at Avaiyar College, Karaikal. “Chilappathikarathil Nokku” has been published in the journal “Chirappu Nokkil Chilappathikaram”. Cell organized a four day training programme for all final year post graduate and under graduate students on 03.12.14. Mr.N.Arunkumar and Mrs.Neelavathi, Sri Academy, Trichy were the resource persons. Students from Economics, History, Maths, Biochemistry, Physics and B.Com (SF) attended the programme on 04.12.14. Students from Chemistry, Zoology and B.Com (Aided) attended the programme on 05.12.14. Students from Computer Science, Information Technology and Bba attended the training programme.

on 17.12.14. Mr.N.Arunkumar, Sri
Academy, Trichy invited SERCO Global
Service, Pondy. Mr.Somu,HR Manager
and Mr.Parthvelu Senior Manager
conducted the interview. The Interview
was conducted in two stages. In Group
Discussion round, Students were given a
topic and asked to discuss about the same.
Then direct interview was conducted.
Finally 154 students were selected. Offer
letters were given by the Company to the
students directly.
Practical Session on Value
Added Sea Food Preparation was held on
24.1.15.The resource persons were
Dr.Velvizhi, Principal scientist, MSSRF,
Ms.Siranjothi, Trainer and Ms.Kuyili,
Trainer MSSRF, Nagapattinam.
39 Students attended the practical

given to the first year students by Sri
Academy Trichy. 78 Students attended the
training programme.

on “Employability Skill Enhancement”. The resource persons were

Studies, Coimbatore. All the final year UG
students attended the training programme.
Under Youth Development
Programme,Career Guidance and
Placement Cell Organized a one day
training programme, on “Interview Skill” on 03.02.15.
The resource person was
Mr.A.B.Sivakumar, Director-Training and
Placement, Sri Venkateshwara Group of
institutins Ettimadai, Coimbatore.
All the final year UG students
attended the programme. It was very
helpful in enhancing the employability
skill of the students. The motivational
video was very much impressive.
Father of Library Science Dr.S.R.Renganathan Award conferred the title in the Semmozhi Tamil International Conference, Tamil Literary Research centre, Madurai at Avvaiyar Arts College for Women, Karaikal, presented to Dr.Mrs.R.Jayalakshmi, Librarian, A.D.M. College for Women, Nagapattinam by the District Collector P.Vallaban,Karaikal, dated 14
th December, 2014 for her
contribution in the field of research.

On 24.1.15, IQAC organizes one
day seminar for faculty development
programme. Dr.R.Nagarajan, Asso.Prof. of
Zoology & Dr.S.Ramasamy,Head &
Asso.Prof of Economics were the resource
persons.The topics are Research
Consultancy & Extension and Teaching,
Learning and Evaluations.
Dr.Nagarajan, emphasised the
Research should reach the community
through Extension activities. He also
explained various funding agencies
available to assist research.
Dr.S.Ramasamy,delivered a lecture
and explained how to design need based
curricular and the existing evaluation
system.
Rotaractors of ADM College for
Women participated in the Clean India
Programme initiated by our Prime
Minister Narendra Modi, our Rotaract
Club made the service camp at
Nagapattinam Station on Mahatma
Gandhiji’s Birthday, 2nd October, 2014.
About 30 volunteers from our club
participated in the programme. The
Southern Railways made a campaign on
Railway Cleanliness,
“SHARAMDHAAN” on clean India. The
co-ordinators and volunteers took a pledge
along with the Railway Station Manager.
Mr.Illango to keep India clean in
three languages (Hindi,English,Tamil).
The volunteers collected about 12 bags of
wastages from Nagapattinam Railway
Station premises.
Rotary Club of Nagapattinam and
Hands of Hope jointly organized a rally on
26th
December at 2.30 pm (Tsunami Day).
The rally was flagged off by the Chief
Guest Dr.Abhinav Kumar, IPS,
Superintendent of Police, Nagapattinam in
the presence of Rtn.PDG.N.Govindaraj,
District Governor (2009-10) RI District
2980 from New Bus stand, Nagapattinam
to New Beach Children’s Park.
130 Rotaracter’s from our college
participated in the Rally. Rotaract
coordinator Dr.V.Umamaheswari
organized and made the volunteers to
participate.
The Collectorate of Nagapattinam
organized a rally on 23.1.15 at 10.00 AM
from collectorate to New Bus stand to
create Awareness among the public about
the need for voting. Rotaract students
participated in the rally. The rally was
flagged off by Miss.Priyadharsini,
RDO of Nagapattinam.

competition was conducted by the
Nagapattinam collectorate on 23.1.15 at
E.G.S.Pillai Arts and Science College,

Red Ribbon Club conducted
Speech Competition for Worlds AIDS Day
on the topic “Un Vazhkai Un Kaiyil” on
18.12.14. Dr.A.Dhanalakshmi, HOD of
Tamil Department, Prof.S.Rajeswari,
Department of Economics and
Prof.R.Alamelu, Department of History,
A.D.M.College for Women acted as
judges for this competition.
On 22.12.14, RRC conducted
Debate on the topic “Who should get an AIDS Awareness Men? Or Women?”

Tamil, A.D.M.College for Women acted
as judge for this competition.
NSS Unit I & II participated in a
rally on Tsunami Memorial Day at
Nagapattinam Beach and meeting by the
rally at 2.30 P.M on 26th
January 2015 was
passed by the District Collector
Mr.Munusamy along with the
NAMBIKAI ILLAM organization’s orphanage students.
The Rally was inaugurated by
Mr.Parameswaran, Director of
NAMBIKAI ILLAM. A Meeting was also
organised by the NAMBIKAI ILLAM
organization at Nagapattinam Beach by
5.00 P.M.100 NSS Volunteers attended
the program. NSS Program Officers
Dr.C.J.Pricilla and Mrs.G.Anbarasi
organized and made the volunteers to
participate.
The NSS Unit I & II arranged
Voter’s Day Celebration at our college campus after the assembly during 10.30
A.M on 23rd
January 2015, Our Principal
Dr.S.Myhtili presided the function and
pointed out the importance of every citizen
especially the youth to vote and elect our
leaders of our nation.
All the staff and students of our
college took a pledge to vote in the future
elections. 100 NSS Volunteers attended a
Rally organised by the District
Collectarate and was inagurated by
District Collector Mr.Palanichamy from
Collectorate to Nagapattinam New Bus
Stand.

On the same day at 2.00 P.M, 11
Volunteers participated in culturals and
performed a drama “Voting is Compulsory” program at EGS Pillay College. Nss Program Officer
Dr.C.J.Pricilla and Mrs.G.Anbarasi
organized and made the volunteers to
participate in all the events.
Our Students won the overall
championship in the All India Interstate Yoga
championship held at Nehru Stadium-Chennai.

News on 01.09.2014 and they won the overall
championship in the Chennai Talent Show
held at Sollinganallur, Chennai on 08.02.2015.
This year our team participated in the
University level chess, swimming, cross
country, Athletics, Ball Badminton, Kabadi,
Shuttle Badminton, Net Ball, Weight lifting,
Tournaments.
Our Team of Hockey, Foot ball and
Kabbadi won the third position in C.M.Trophy
held at Nagapattinam stadium, and received
cash award of each game.
Our physical Directress Dr.V.Uma
received the title Award for “Yoga Bhushan Award” from the sports University Chennai on 01.09.2014.
