Introduction

• The following document contains an outline of the proposed look & feel, and page structure for the Move4Parkinson’s website

• This is intended as a guide for the AOL team who will build the webpage

• We understand that not all functionality may be possible, this outline is just a guide on M4P preferences

• M4P also understand that AOL have just one day to complete all work, any additional work will have to be completed separately by M4P

• Members of the Move4Parkinson’s team will be available on the 15th of February to go to AOL and provide real-time input and support as the site is being developed

Headline Features & Ideas

Is it possible to add in W3C standard?

Other homepage featuresOption: Chat feature that allows members to connect with other members eg. PwP or carers/family members who wish to share experiences or talk with others in similar situations on a peer-to-peer level as they would do at an offline event rather than open public forum (similar idea to Facebook chat?)- Technical difficulty? / Legal / T&C’s considerations? – we don’t feel this is an option we

would want immediately but wondering if it is something that is possible in the future with Wordpress – this is a ‘nice to have’ not a ‘must have’

Drop down menu sub-headings– automatically gets updated when changes made?

2.5Shared Experiences

This section explains what Parkinson’s is, outlines self management and 5 elements guide , provides links to additional resources and includes a forum for discussion

A simple english definition of what Parkinson’s is. Maybe some common myths/ misconceptions

An intro piece which explains each person will experience Parkinson’s differently. what self-management is and the choice each person has in managing their parkinson’s

Intro to the 5 elements guide – see next slide for sub pages to be added here

List of resources, websites articles etc. may wish to sort under ‘general resources;’ and 5 elements headings. Also other offline supports M4P support, Other Support (e.g. PAI branches, Parkinson’s Nurses)

This should contain historic blog listings – would like to be able to tag the blogs under different headings (e.g. so that ppl can sort by tag). Maybe use 5 elements as tags? Pls note Pascal has done a piece of work to tag all of our existing blogs which will assist with this

In the initial stages we should include here testimonials and some stories of people that have Parkinson’s that have introduced different elements of self management. We can start with ppl from M4P but could also get stories from people we know in other countries. In the longer team we might wish to add functionality so ppl can share their own stories. However in the short term we do not have the resources to moderate this
