DR (MRS) SHADE OLUKOYA VISITS MTU, COMMISSIONS
PROJECTS
I t was a memorable event when the wife of the
Visitor to the University, Dr (Mrs) Shade Olu-
koya visited MTU. Dr (Mrs) Olukoya, who
was on her second official visit to the Universi-
ty, was accompanied by the wives of three Assistant-
General Overseers of Mountain of Fire and Miracles
Ministries.
Upon arrival, Dr (Mrs) Olukoya was received by the
Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Ayolabi, and other Prin-
cipal Officers of the University, after which there was
an interactive session in the Vice-Chancellor’s office.
The Vice-Chancellor who was glad to receive the
guests gave an account of the giant strides the Univer-
sity has taken. In his address, he mentioned to the de-
light of all, that MTU came second in the first NUC
OER ranking of all Nigerian Universities. He also
mentioned the completion of the new female hostel,
which he said the University community would be de-
lighted to have her commission.
In her response, Dr (Mrs) Olukoya said that God has
designed MTU for great achievements. In her words
‘MTU has small feet but takes giant steps’. She also
prayed that many more significant achievements
would be recorded by the University in due time.

At the end of the brief session, the visiting team went
on a tour of the University. The highlight of the visit
was the commissioning of various projects in the Uni-
versity by Dr (Mrs) Shade Olukoya. Among the pro-
jects commissioned were: The Central Laboratory,
Biochemistry Laboratory, Computer Science Labora-
tory, Conference Room, all in the College of Basic
and Applied Sciences and the Ultra-modern Female
Hostel known as Elizabeth New Hall.
It would be recalled that the Elizabeth (New) Hall, in
a previous bulletin, was said to be a world-class hostel
facility and arguably the best around. The hostel fea-
tures a basement, lawn tennis and table tennis courts,
laundry rooms on each floor, a courtyard for relaxa-
tion, reading spaces, large reception rooms for guests,
common room on each floor, 24 hours video surveil-
lance, electric fence among others.

MTU HOLDS THIRD MATRICULATION CEREMONY
M ountain Top University
recently held its Third Ma-
triculation Ceremony.
The Ceremony, which was
flavoured with a Matriculation Lecture
themed: “Attitude and Success in Leader-
ship: The Nigerian Experience”, was deliv-
ered by Hon. (Dr) Emmanuel Bello, a mem-
ber of the Federal House of Representatives.
In his speech, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. E.
A. Ayolabi appreciated all guests present. He
specially thanked the Guest Lecturer for hon-
oring the occasion with his distinguished
presence. He further remarked that MTU is
on a divine mission. In his words “Mountain
Top University is established by divine ordi-
nance. It is an institution of higher learning
dedicated to the all round development of
man. We are on a mission to be the best Uni-
versity not only in Nigeria but the world at
large”.
While delivering his lecture, the Guest Lec-
turer, Hon. (Dr) Emmanuel Bello stated that
bad leadership had been the bane behind Ni-
geria’s crises since the country attained inde-
pendence. He further said that Nigeria, at this
time of her corporate existence, is in need of
morally sound and incorruptible leaders that would
pilot her affairs. In summary, Dr Bello noted that the
present crop of students in Mountain Top University
have the much needed potentials to steer Nigeria out
of trouble.
At the end of the lecture, a plaque of appreciation
was presented to the Guest Lecturer.
It would be recalled that a total of Two Hundred and
Forty-Six students were matriculated to pursue vari-
ous degree programmes in the University across its
two Colleges.
