WHO’S IN THE e2o OFFICE? Movember was a great success this year raising a grand total of

$1,742. e2o would like to take this opportunity to thank all who

donated and participated in this fundraiser.

The winner of the most funds raised was Peter Wakelin raising a

whopping $780.00! Peter has won a Coles/Myer gift voucher for his

efforts. Congratulations Peter! Honourable mentions given to both

Gavin Chant who raised $320 and Jason King who raised $220.00

towards our grand total!

WELCOME RIANA BURKE Due to significant company growth, expansion into the Korean

markets and increasing reporting requirements, the e2o finance

department has never been busier. Therefore we welcomed Riana

Burke to our team in January 2014 as Assistant Accountant.

Originally from South

Africa, Riana has also

worked in finance in the

UK and has a wealth of

knowledge and

experience in payroll and

reporting from her

previous role with an

Engineering and

Construction company in

SA.

Her role at e2o will involve overseeing the end to end payroll

and invoicing process, organising the monthly Korean payroll

process, and assisting with monthly, quarterly and annual

financial reporting.

PROJECT IN FOCUS – WORSLEY MFC

Located just out of Collie WA (2.5 hours South of Perth), BHPBilliton has a massive Aluminium Smelter called Worsley. This plant expanded from 3.1 to 4.7 million tonnes per year and required a huge increase of steam and power, so a local entrepreneur embarked on a project to construct a Power Plant to run the site and engaged a constructor to commence the project. Unfortunately, both the entrepreneur and the construction company went broke in the process! The pieces were left to the banks to pick up and either sell off or continue construction. WR Carpenter was engaged by the banks to continue construction in an ambitious attempt to have a final power plant that would be viable and saleable to BHPBilliton. The power plant consists of two coal/biomass circulating fluidised bed boilers, both capable of producing 550 tonnes per hour of steam, and 106 MW of power. Power excess to Worsley’s needs, will be exported to the State electricity grid. The multi-fuel cogeneration units will primarily burn coal but will also be able to burn up to 30 per cent biomass (waste wood). e2o have been assisting with the commissioning at the MFC site since the end of 2011. We have had varying presence on site, from an E&I Supervisor and E&I Technicians performing “Loop Checks”, an Operations Supervisor, a Commissioning Electrical Engineer, and a variety of calibration equipment on Hire. The site experienced many issues along the way with end dates consistently being moved out, shifts and rosters regularly being altered and staff and workers alike entering and leaving the project. Our team flew the e2o flag proudly, proving our commissioning capabilities and high integrity around the site. A few e2o technicians were engaged specifically for a short term toward the end of 2012. A few were asked to stay a little longer than initially thought and one in particular stayed for over a year! Lindsay Johnson was employed for an initial two week period, flying in from Townsville, QLD to assist the project, over one year later he was finished up at the completion of the project. Massive effort, thanks Lindsay! I thank all who were involved on the site for e2o; you have helped endorse our services to those who may not have heard of us. Many comments were made by senior management and supervisors leaving the project that would remember our name when involved in future projects due to the professionalism shown by our technicians.

PROJECT IN FOCUS – NAAN3

As part of Clough, e2o were asked in October of 2013, to provide a small commissioning Team for the Downer Clough joint venture project at the CSBP site in Kwinana (40 minutes South Perth) The project involved installing a third additional plant hence the name - Ammonium Nitrate/Nitric Acid Plant Number 3 (NAAN3). Initially e2o were to provide a small E&I Team to assist with Completions and “Loop Checks”, however it was soon evident that the e2o technicians had far superior experience to those already on site. The e2o technicians took charge on both day and night shift, training other technicians and assisting the group to meet their deadlines. Two e2o Technicians have been kept on for an extended period to finalize the handover to CSBP, Jarrod Daniel and Wayne Edwards flew the flag for e2o, showing technical expertise and leadership ensuring the e2o name was held in high regard by all on site. Special mention to other technicians that assisted e2o, especially over Christmas 2013 – Todd Hendricks, Greg Laves, Aaron Brown and Scott Carr.

NAME? Emily Brie French

WHERE WERE YOUR BORN? I’m an Adelaide born girl but have spent time working in NSW and QLD too.

WHEN DID YOU JOIN e2o AND IN WHAT ROLE? I started in September 2013 as the Project Recruitment Coordinator in our Head office. I’ve been in recruitment for about 5 years; previous to e2o I worked supporting mining.

WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST JOB?

My first job was at McDonalds. I was so desperate to be independent and get

a job I started at 13; I had to get my dad to talk to the manager on the sly.

I remember in my first week the duty manager spilt a whole jug of percolated

coffee on me whilst showing me how to use the machine, I don’t know what

I was thinking wanting that job!

WHAT IS THE BEST JOB YOU HAVE HAD?

I loved working at the Heart Foundation, mind you I worked with about

10 nurses and dieticians and they would check the contents of my lunch box each

day for nutritional value, so I had to hide the chocolate!

Working on Hayman Island was pretty amazing too.

WHAT IS THE LAST BOOK YOU READ?

I love trashy crime books so it would have been a Martina Cole novel (I have a bit of a Book Depository addiction).

WHEN I’M NOT WORKING, I’M…?

Playing club netball, fundraising for netball, training for netball etc.

WHAT WAS YOUR NICKNAME AT SCHOOL/GROWING UP?

I get called Frenchy or Em. Aunty Emmy to my gorgeous little nephews.

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR PERFECT HOLIDAY?

We holiday at my partners shack down at Point Turton quite a bit and it’s lovely there. Fishing, kayaking and snorkelling.

Otherwise I love a weekend in the Coonawarra, stocking up the red wine collection.

BEST CAREER ADVICE YOU HAVE BEEN GIVEN?

That girls can do anything and to always trust your instincts.

e2o love receiving your candidate referrals. If you know someone who would be great on one of our projects please get

them to contact Emily French on (08) 8186 0300 or email their CV to [email protected].

Health, Safety, Quality and Environment

The new-look e2o’s integrated management system ‘IMS’:

We have over the last few months aligned our key business policies, procedures and business processes with that of the

parent Clough Organisation. These new business systems are now current and are hosted on our IMS SharePoint portal,

included in the e2o employee handbook and can also be found on the e2o Webpage.

The next phase will be rolling out the Clough Management Expectation and relevant operating standards into the e2o

business. Once these have been approved and signed off by the Executive and General Managers of e2o they will be

cascaded down to all employees as these will underpin our business operations and service offering. The e2o and Clough

Management Expectations define the key responsibilities and characteristics of good management practices and underpin

our fundamental business framework imperatives.

Target Zero progress:

At e2o, we are committed to achieving and adhering to the ‘Target Zero’ program and we are currently going through the

e2o/Clough alignment phases. The status to date is

Training and education sessions will be presented to relevant staff members - completed

Target Zero framework which defines the elements and expectation’s which support the achievement of TZ will be

rolled out shortly and will be included into the induction and onboarding process – to be included by 30/3/14

Target Zero commitment cards will be issued to all workers and will need to signed off on (i.e. accepted)

Overall the Target Zero focus is:

Enhance your awareness of TZ together with your personal commitment which aims at improving safety in the

workplace and ensuring safe work practices

Understand what ‘Zero Harm’ means together with TZ values and how they apply to all e2o personnel

Define how participation in applying TZ values and actions in day to day work, home and community contribute to

all’s wellbeing

Our key target zero values are: Commitment, Empowerment, Teamwork and Accountability

This results in choices each of us need to make to keep safe and protect what’s is important to us
