4Christ in the Bible
Tradition This refers to the unwritten
Words of God, handed down from the Apostles and kept inviolate through the centuries by the Magisterium (the Teaching Authority) of the Church.
5Christ in the Bible
It is the written Word of God,
through the instrumentality of the evangelists under the guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. These writings were compiled and preserved by the Church founded by Christ.
Bible
6Christ in the Bible
The Bible is the inspired “Word of God”
Inspiration means that God worked in and through the human authors in such a way that they were empowered to use their own talents and words to write what God wanted them to communicate for the sake of our salvation.
Indeed, the Bible is the Word of God written in human works.
7Christ in the Bible
Magisterium The church’s
teaching authority, instituted by Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit, which seeks to safeguard and explain the truths of the faith.
8Christ in the Bible
Why are these books considered sacred?
By supernatural influence They were free instruments of God Because of inspiration Because inspiration left the writers free

50Christ in the Bible
In Conclusion Basic and most important truth taught
throughout the Bible is that God is our Savior.
As the God of our salvation, he makes Himself known to man.
He comes among us as one or us in the person of Jesus of Nazareth, true God and true man.
The Bible is the record of how God has taken a hand in our world.
51Christ in the Bible
In Conclusion The whole of Christ’s life was a continual
teachings: His silence; His miracles; His gestures; His prayer; His love for people; His special affection for the little and the poor; His acceptance of the total sacrifice on the cross for the REDEMPTION of the world and His resurrection are actualization of His word and fulfillment of REVELATION. (John Paul II CT9)
So ignorance of the Scripture is ignorance of Christ. – St. Jerome
