Applications of EXPSYSTEMS• EXPSYSTEMS is the polyvalent ecological system designed by

RHOSS to satisfy chilled and hot water demands simultane-ously or independently with a single unit, according to theoperating mode chosen, i.e. AUTOMATIC or SELECT. It isdesigned for use in 2- and 4-pipe systems, at any time of year.

How does it work?The evoluted microprocessor control manages the twoEXPSYSTEMS operating modes, AUTOMATIC and SELECT,catering for the demands of 2- or 4-pipe systems.• AUTOMATIC allows for the simultaneous or separate

production of chilled and hot water, in a completely automaticfashion.

• SELECT allows for the production of hot water and heatingwater on the basis of system demands and the prioritiesassigned by the user.

2-pipe systems• Air conditioning and the production of hot water in a 2-pipe

system is a typical application in residential units, hotels,hospitals, gyms and hospitality structures in general.

• EXPSYSTEMS in AUTOMATIC mode is used in the summermonths for cooling and the production of hot water.

• EXPSYSTEMS in SELECT mode is used in between seasonsor in winter for heating and the production of hot water on thebasis of the priority assigned.

4-pipe systems• Increasingly frequently, modern HVAC installations require the

simultaneous production of hot and chilled water. This canoccur more often because of:

- the development of new types of thermal insulation forbuildings;

- increase in internal loads (CED, WEB, etc.);- lighting systems;- the presence of large windows;- the growing importance attributed to air quality, which

requires the use of conditioning systems throughout the year.• In these kinds of application EXPSYSTEMS can be used inAUTOMATIC mode throughout the year, catering for simul-taneous or separate hot and chilled water demands in acompletely automatic way.

Construction features Heat exchanger: featuring high efficiency finned coil withcopper pipes joined to aluminium fins by mechanical expansion.The unit undergoes pressure and seal tests, guaranteeing amaximum working pressure of 29 bar.The refrigerant circuit connections need brazing.The units are supplied pressurised with nitrogen.Fans: axial fans with external rotor; rotating body of motor andfan blades with aerodynamic configuration that guaranteesquiet operation and high performance.The electric fans are also speed-adjustable (by means of theTCEE 105÷2130 evaporator unit PSC accessory) and areprotected against overloads by thermal overload switchbreakers.Structure: in galvanised and painted sheet steel with epoxypowder coating.• The remote condensers come equipped with a support

bracket kit for vertical/horizontal air flow. The support bracketsare made from AISI 304 stainless steel for the condenserswith fans measuring from 400-500 mm, and in galvanisedsteel for the condensers with fans measuring from 630-910mm.

• The brackets are of an optimum length for uniform air suctioninto the coil.

• The motors are wired in compliance with VDE 0530/12.84.• IP54 protection, in compliance with DIN 40050.• Electrical panel compliant with IEC standards. Sealed box

with IP55 protection, complete with:- Main switch with door interlock;.- Power contactors.- Thermal overload switch;- Indicator lights and remote-controlled alarms.- The electric panel for condensers with fans measuring from

400 to 500 mm is not installed upon delivery. The client isresponsible for its installation.

RHOSS SUPERVISOR is the Rhoss supervision system thatallows monitoring and remote management of Rhoss units usedin a hydronic system.This makes it possible to monitor, via a computer, the operationof Rhoss chillers, heat pumps or terminal units, or the entireiDRHOSS integrated hydronics system.

RHOSS SUPERVISOR is easy to use both in terms ofsystem configuration and access to characteristic unit parame-ters because it uses the Microsoft Internet Explorer interface.

RHOSS SUPERVISOR makes it possible to set up a localsupervision system via serial connection of the microprocessorcards of the RHOSS units to a computer. If the local computeris connected to the information system network of the building(Ethernet with TCP/IP protocol), the information can be sharedwith any other computer on the network. Supervision can alsobe carried out remotely via GSM modem connection.In both cases, access to supervisor information can be protect-ed by various levels of password.

CTA ADVR: RHOSS completes its offer with the ADV unitsequipped with their own electrical panel with dedicated thermalregulation system. The units are supplied with a detailedaeraulic diagram, a wiring diagram and a description of theregulation. The air handling units are wired in all the regulationand power components such as: electric motors, electronichumidifiers, inverters, servo-motors and sensors. All the watercircuit components: are carefully selected, installed and pre-calibrated in the factory. The unit is functionally tested in all itscomponents in the factory. Start-up of the units is performed byRhoss qualified personnel to ensure reliability over time.

Selection software:The innovative CTA ADV selection programme allows rapid andcorrect unit sizing. The programme guides the user in thechoice of components, provides a technical sheet for profes-sionals complete with a detailed description and drawing andan up-to-date economic report. The resulting configuration allows the order to be transmitteddirectly to the production department, thus considerablyreducing the delivery times of the units.

Anti-corrosion treatments are available for applications in saline air environ-ments (coastal areas) or environments with chemically aggressive air.Partial or total condensation heat recovery: thermally insulated,with brazed plates and made of materials suitable for the treatment ofpool water.
