Create a new section in your one note, call it 'Criterion B'. Create a

new page in that section called 'Specification'

A specification is a list of points that your designs will need to do to

    be successful

Create a list of points (or success criteria) that you will use to

    create your designs

    -

Use your brainstorm/research headings to help you e.g-

    Materials

    - The Medal must be made using Pewter and acrylic

    - Materials used must be available in the school workshop

    Function

The medal must be a design related to Math-

    Materials

The medal must be made using Pewter and Acrylic-The medal must be melted on a temperature of 230-

    Processes

Ask 5 members of the class to choose one of your designs, create a

tally chart to show their choices

Ask them why they chose that design and record their opinion (just a

    quick sentence)

Choose a final design and explain why you have chosen it

    2D design

Use this to help you learn the basics of 2D design (practice drawing

    different shapes)

Orthographic 2D - This explains the type of drawing you are going to do

Use the drawing template to help you build a front, plan and side

    view of your medal

Put a screen shot of your completed final design into one note

JustificationWhy did I choose design 2?

I chose design 2 because most people said that it is better than design 1. I asked 6 people, including Mr.Craig, about their opinion on the designs. 5 people, including Mr. Craig, said that design 2 was better. EvenI personally thought that design 2 was better. Someone said that design 1 is more creative and detailed.Someone else said that design 2 is more creative and really good even though it might be a bitcomplicated to make. Another person said that design 2 makes it more obvious that it is a design for mathand the design is very nice. Another person said that she thinks that the signs make the design look better

and the last person said that in the other design, everyone is using the NISTIE so that design is very common.Mr. Craig said that design 2 is more obvious that is a medal for Math's and when people will look at it froma distance then they will know "oh, that person is good at Math's!" Mr. Craig even gave a suggestion thatthe design could have a support behind it to keep it stable. My mom said that design 2 is very attractiveand she really liked the design for when I first drew it. I personally think that the design is very unique to use

Bhakti: Design 1 is better because it is more creative and detailed1.Caroline: Design 2 is better because it is really creative and really good even though it might be complicated2.Tara: Design 2 is better because it is more obvious by the design3.Fia: Design 2 is better because the signs represent Math4.Vanessa: Design 2 is better because design 1 is more common in the class - design 2 is more unique5.

which is obviously silver. BEST MATHEMATICIAN is going to be engraved on theAcrylic.

I chose design 1 because it was more noticeable and it stood out more so whenpeople look from a distance they can understand that it is a medal for Maths.
