Monthly Meeting Minutes – Friday 8th April, 2011

1. The Pig was Howling from the Growling at 8pm at the Waters Edge, Friday 8th April 2011.

2. Minutes of March's Meeting confirmed as a mere semblance of the occurrences and events

which transpired that evening, but all agreed it was due to the faulty recollections of the

members present as distinct from the accurate secretarial scribing!

3. Present tonight were 29 members: Callan 'OBI 1', Geeooff (or is it The Jeff?), Eric with a K,

Alabama Ronnie & Mike, John “’The Font of all Knowledge’ Smith (on the run from world wide security

services), Noisy duo Big Bad Joe & Ben, Brendan, Rosie, Scott, Rosalini, Sherrie, Billy PEE, Loren,

Chantelle & Gary, the dodgy looking new environment committee chairman who was handing

out grog and proffered 3 or 4 different names through the night, Mike & Brianna, Robert, Shiloh,

Builder Ben & Heidi, Paul, Jonathan, Markey, The Donno and the Sarah.

4. Barely muted grumblings that many of the easy on the eye ladies were not present-The Katie,

The Dollye, The Heidi, The Renee and The Sarah Fisk, prompting a comment from someone on

The Billy PEE’s table (of one), that this batch of crusty old farts present were in sorry need of an

extreme make over.

5. New members Alabama Ronnie & Mike (two really big dodgies if ever was seen that will fit right

in), totaling 62 paid up members to date.

6. ENVIRONMENT COMMITTEE: The Heidi has sourced videos and photos of the shocking Shark

killing for their fins. Although legal in Fiji and actively pursued by the Long Liners, it is decimating

the shark population. She is requesting support (not dosh) in the form of physical assistance (ie.

painting (I presume on canvass and not dunny walls?) as the parents of the Pacific Harbour

International School were somewhat reluctant. At the end of the meeting, The Callan will

compile a list of supporters prepared to donate their time.

7. EVENTS COMMITTEE: Report from The Brendan 'one word' Yeee - "SOON".

After the 'Stunned Mullet' silence which followed, the enforcement division of the Twisted

Leaders will ‘work on’ The Brendan during the week, in order for him to adequately prepare the

proposal by next meeting.

A more probable start time will be likely in July for the Boat Based Comp.

A fun jigging fishing cruise is being planned for Saturday 23rd Easter weekend on Charlie’s boat.

$50/person for a fun day. First 20 paid up members, with 17 paid on the night.

8. EDUMACATION COMMITTEE: The smorgasboard of training was more like an appetiser on the

Titanic, but all enthusiastically embraced the learning of tying a Twisted Leader.

The Rosie appeared to be struggling in her instructional technique until the Donno lent his

support! ‘A true professional never drops her Twisted Leader even when under duress!’

9. There was a huge sigh of relief from The EriK after he learned that Paul has promised to conduct

a 'Fly Fishing' presentation at the next monthly meeting, leaving him free to clutch his gonads

and drink his beer in peace.

Mike also indicated he would teach the splicing of Nylon multi strand and looping, so bring your

rope if you are interested in learning a new skill to next month's meeting.

10. The Base Ball Caps arrived today, and will be embroidered in the following week. There were

requests for embroidered manties, but it was remarked that most here do not wear undies or

the cost would be prohibitive due to the excess material required (front and back!)!

11. Mass confusion and chaos then reigned, so The Callan forgot to canvass the needed pledgings

of support for the School Project anti shark finning requested by The Heidi. Please let Callan

know if you would like to lend a hand.

12. Next meeting Friday 14th May 2011 at 7.30pm.

13. Meeting then died in the arse at 9:10pm.
