The Stenersen Museum is one o Oslosleading museums or modern art. Themuseum includes three private art collec-tions which include Norwegian Realism,Modernism and Avantgarde rom the19th and 20th Centuries. vIgElAND-MuSEETThe Vigeland Museum is Oslos only mu-seum or sculpture. The Museum was orig-inally built as a studio and residence orsculptor Gustav Vigeland (1869-1943). Thepermanent collection contains amongstothers Vigelands early works, his portraitsand monuments, as well as plaster modelso the sculptures in the Vigeland park. TheMuseum also shows temporary exhibi-tions o contemporary art.

One o Norways most visited attractionswith more than 1 million visitors everyyear. The unique sculpture park is thelie work o the sculptor Gustav Vigeland(1869-1943) with more than 200 sculpturesin bronze, granite and cast iron. Vigelandwas also responsible or the design andarchitectural outline o the park.

(The Viking Ship Museum) Museum o CulturalHistory, The University o Oslo. The Museumdisplays the Gokstad ship, the Oseberg shipand the Tune ship which are the best pre-served Viking Ships ever ound. The ships wereound in three royal burial mounds where theyhad been buried, more than 1100 years earlier,to carry their royal owners to the other side.

The museum also displays the unique nds,including a carriage, sledges and other goodsrom the graves.
