The charts below show the contexts, grammar and skills suggested in the QCA Scheme of Workfor German and where their equivalent is introduced in Logo! Please note that more detailedinformation about the QCA document can be found on the DFES standards website:http://www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/schemes2/secondary_mfg/ .

For the first set of charts, the QCA Scheme of Work is taken as the starting point and thenmapped against the appropriate stage of Logo! e.g. if QCA suggests a particular item could becovered in the second half of the spring term of Year 8 (Unit 10) a reference from Logo! 2 willhave been sought. Where this is not possible, references from other stages of Logo! are also given.

Usually only one reference is given, at the place where the item is introduced. If the firstmention of an item gives only a partial introduction, however, and more essentialinformation is given later, further references are given.

ABOUT THE CHAPTERThe first chapter of Logo! 1 focuses on the context of personal identification as in the QCASceme of Work Unit 1. Pupils are introduced to the definite and indefinite articles(nominative), the indefinite article in the accusative and 1st and 2nd person forms of verbs.

Kapitel 1 begins to develop the skills of accurate pronunciation, learning vocabulary,using knowledge of English and asking and answering questions.

At this point, the QCA SoW suggests the same grammar as listed below with the omissionof the indefinite article in the accusative.
