Communication

Communication is an important aspect on performing crane operations. Failure on applying correct communication will end with misunderstood and finally end with accident or incident to those who are at work site /surrounding .

Normally, crane operator could not be able to

judge accurately when performing lifting operations. Assistance from signalman are required.

When view of operator are restricted / could not see the object for lifting

Must be at correct position where operator can easily observe

An organization should standardize based on their operational task

Currently usage of walkie-talkie and radio amateur been widely use for assisting the crane operation communication.

But Hand Signal also need to be learnt as alternative signal for standby.
