Place the chunk of soil with grass and its roots on newspaper sheaths

and slowly add water from the top. the water passes through the soil and

drenches the paper. the pore in the soil due to activity of plants and animals.

This helps in recharging the ground water.

and slowly add water from the top. MOST OF THE WATER DOES NOT

pass through the soil and escapes from the surface.

Thus destruction of tress and forests leads to ground water depletion.
