Our bike collection proves the strength of family bonds. The Deuter BIKE fam-ily consists of 13 members who are all super successful, but most of all super

passionate mountain bikers and they are just as passionate about working on our products. They test and challenge, they refine and come up with new ideas.

The result is a range of heavily decorated packs: our bike collection has received numerous international awards, best buys and recommendations. The Trans Al-

pine Pro, for example, was initiated by our BIKE family and has already won several tests in its first season. Europes biggest mountainbike magazine BIKE

loved it and so did the test crew of the World of MTB. The Freeride magazine simply concluded: The worlds best bike pack? Well, we havent come across

    a better pack yet.

No wonder that we have also worked so closely with our BIKE family on this seasons collection. Our Superbike hugs the body even more closely with its

new Auto-Compress hip wings and our popular Cross Air gets even lighter with the flexible Aircomfort FlexLite system. We are also introducing a special new

expert to our collection: the lightweight, streamlined Road One was specifi-cally engineered for road cyclists who set out on long tours. Instead of stuffing

all the gear in the jerseys pockets, the riders can organize tools, spare tires, and weather protection in the slim pack. Thought-through to the detail, the V-

shaped cut still allows an easy access to the jerseys back side pockets. Plus, the Road One also features a removable rain cover and a special attachment option

for the sunglasses on the shoulder straps.

The new collection is the pride of the entire Deuter BIKE family! Now, we are all looking forward to taking our new packs out on rides. We will have a great time

but we will, of course, not stand still. Weve already started working on new projects. Our family members have come up with new ideas, many new ideas

We hope you will enjoy a fantastic bike season!Your Deuter Family

Tall people can enjoy a perfect fit with our Extra Long EL-models! Sports people who are between 1.85 m and 2.00 m tall often have difficulty finding backpacks that fit their longer backs. Our favourite Deuter backpack models are available to suit taller people with extended back lengths by 6-9 cm. Over-all, backpacks in the Extra Long (EL) series have also grown in terms of volume. Back systems, features and details remain the same in the EL models as they are in the standard models, however.

shorter back Women have in general shorter backs than men. The SL carry systems are therefore shorter than Deuters standard backpacks.

narrower shoulder strapswith soft edges, smaller buckles and very narrow strap exten-sions prevent the SL shoulder straps from chafing or putting unwanted pressure on the chest area. Since women normally have narrower shoulders, the shoulder straps are positioned closer together to prevent strap slippage.

conical shaped hip belt To fit womens hips comfortably the hip belt should form a conical shape when closed. This conical shape is achieved by the diagonal construction of the belts anchor points as well as the curved shape of the SL hip fins.

    The Jubilee GirlsRideToo Camp!

GirlsRideToo.de a platform for female mountain-bikers who just love riding celebrated its fifth Get Out Camp! For the anniversary the ladies, of course, did what they love doing most: riding the most beautiful trails in Pontresina/Switzerland. A spectacular scenery, epic tracks, and tons of fun. Right in the middle of the action: andrea Hahn, member of our Deuter BIKE Family & the Deuter SL product development team. She is co-organising the GirlsRideToo Camp and surprised the ladies with a fancy Deuter jubilee gift.

    Deuter BIKE Family member

Hans rey is one of mountainbikings undisputed legends: member of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, Trial-World Champion, film star, adventurer but he is also the man be-hind Wheels4Life! Founded in 2008, the non-profit project has steadily evolved to grow into a very special bike story tell-ing miracles of mobility...

    Wheels4Life ist

Hans charity organisation provides free bicycles for people in need of transportation in Third World countries. Wheels4Life partners with locals to help identify those who sincerely need a bike to be able to go to school or to work. Often these people live in very primitive and remote areas with no ac-cess to public transportation. The closest school, doctor or work-place might be miles away. Having a bike, therefore, can make all the difference! The gift of mobility can do miracles!

So far Wheels4Life has distributed 5.377

    bikes in 22 countries worldwide.

From Afghanistan to Costa Rica to Uganda the bikes have changed lives and its the individual stories that continuously inspire and motivate the whole team involved.

There are kids who finally have the chance

to attend school. Others can now cycle their produce to the market. There is Sami from Kenya, for example: he became the sole provider for his family at the age of 9. Today he is 13 and still cycles to school and afterwards gets on his bike to fetch water or fire-wood for his neighbours in return for a small fee.

Another initiative that Wheels4Life is dedicated to is based in Uganda. Here a local programme trains medical volunteers to cover remote neighbourhoods and do the basics: vacci-nate, provide drugs, dress wounds, disease prevention, etc. The organisation asked the government for 100 bicycles for their workers they provided 5 while Wheels4Life or-ganised 89 bikes.

Hans and his team hear a lot of personal stories and there are Wheels4Life bikers who even take up with a two day journey to thank them. One of them was Mark, who had received a bike in 2010. He could not afford his secondary school fees, and when he got the bike, he quickly found himself employ-ment. He worked for a year and saved enough money to pay his fees and went back to school. Today he is at university studying hard with the aim to become a doctor. Wheels4Life does changes lives!

By the way: Hans pays for all his charity related travel ex-penses out of his own pocket in order to buy more bikes for those in need...

    The Bike Working Horse!

We sincerely believe that Deuter BIKE family member gerhard czerner knows it all! At least when it comes to biking... Thats why he is our Deuter man at all the major bike events: from the Bike Festivals in Riva/Italy and Willingen to Bikes and Beats in Saalbach/Austria and Brix-en/Italy. He has organised it all, has answered numerous questions and found the right pack for the customers. Yet on top, 50 days a year, he has also worked as instructor and coach for profes-sional mountainbike guides teaching skills and technique, orienteering and weather, emergen-cy managementetc. Yes, he knows it all and he knows how to get it across.

    The clever Auto-Compress hip fin

    system

guarantees a super compact, secure fit on the roughest rides: the anatomically shaped wings with the Pull-Forward system comfortably hold the pack close to the body. The Pull-Forward adjustment results in an automatic side compression and guarantees a compact, precise fit.

proved visibility at dawn and at dusk. With its Airstripes back system, mesh wings and anatomically shaped shoul-

der straps, the Trans Alpine is super comfortable. The SL version with different anchor points and angles to the hip

    Deuters integrated Shield System

features a multi-layer construction which minimises, or even prevents injury occuring during a fall. Mutually complementary foam layers and plates combine to give comfort and maximum safety during a fall. The shock-absorbing core component is the visco-elastic SC-1* Foam. SC-1* Foam sets benchmark standards with its progressive shock-absorption function. A slow impact increase leads to the PSA back protector reacting gradually, whereas a rapid impact shock means the protectors resistance increases progressively quicker. The SC1 foam also features a Memory Effect after a defor-mation it goes back in its original shape and can therefore be used again and again. Two layers of PE offer additional protection against sharp or pointed objects while soft foam pads guarantee carry comfort.

    The spaces between the padding

    allow for comfortable air circulation.

    Anatomically shaped shoulder straps.

    V-Shape

protects sensitive back areas (spine and shoulder blades) and also provides great freedom of movement.

    Extra wide hip fins

add flexibility and freedom of movement in any riding position and also ensure the pack sits tight up against the back.
