ALLOWING GOD TO LEAD
"Pray for us, so that the Word of the Lord may speed forward and be glorified, as it did among you, and that we may be delivered from perverseand wicked people, for not all have faith." (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2)
We have to remember that many people have as yet not received the gift of faith. We would like to believe that everyone is at some time offered the gift, but it may come only at the moment of death. Without faith there is no hope of eternal life.
Most of us have known good people who were either agnostic (they were not sure about God's existence) or atheists (they could not find in theirexperience any comprehension of faith or the ability to ask for it). Believers are well-advised not to judge others, as Christ warns us (see Matthew 7:1). Unbelievers may be dealing with conflicts, problems, or other negative experiences in their past. We should be understanding of this.........
We must allow God to lead people, even if they make what seems to be a wrong turn on the road.
Lord, we pray that your Word may reach into the hearts of those.
KNIGHTS NEWS
"Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; Where there is injury, pardon; Where there is doubt, faith; Where there is despair, hope; Where there is darkness, light; Where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; To be understood, as to understand; To be loved as to love. For it is in giving that we receive; It is in pardoning that we are pardoned; And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life." Our Holy Father has requested that all Knights pray the Prayer of St. Francis daily.
You can save 3,500 innocent lives each and every day. Please help stop the merciless killing of unborn babies by voting in a wise and educated manner. If you need a ride to the polls, please call Mike at 517 486-5966. Please Vote!
The last Euchre Night during 2016 will be next Saturday, November 12 at 5:30 PM and all parishioners, their friends, and all Knights are invited. A light lunch will be provided for all players after the 4:00 PM Mass. Free admission!
Help Wanted: We need manpower to serve the parish and our communities during the holidays and beyond. Please pray for a generous increase in membership. For more information please call Mark at 734 279-2269 or Mike at 517 486-5966.
Please remember our military veterans through prayers and visitations.
THANKSGIVING DONATIONS
The Social Ministry Commission will once again be providing Thanksgiving dinner baskets to the families who use our Food Pantry.
We would appreciate d o n a t i o n s o f t h e

As in years past, we are asking for donations of frozen turkeys also. There are t u r k e y c u t - o u t r e m i n d e r s o n t h e bulletin boards at each site. Please take one and then sign your name on the sign-up sheet so that we will have a list of d o n o r s . T U R K E Y S S H O U L D B E B R O U G H T T O C H U R C H N E X T WEEKEND, NOVEMBER 12/13.
Food donations should be brought to church by November 12/13 or taken to the Parish office during office hours.
Thank you in advance for your generous help in providing a special Thanksgiving meal for the people who come to our parish Food Pantry. We could not continue this good work without your help. God bless!

ALTAR ROSARY SOCIETYFEATHER PARTY RAFFLE TICKETS
The Feather Party Raffle Tickets were distributed 2 weekends ago by the ladies of ARS. Please return the "sold" tickets in the weekend collection basket. We ask you kindly for your generous support since this is the only benefit ARS sponsors throughout the year.
If you need a book or two more, call Kirsten Huff at 517-918-5995. Let's make up for last year when the weather blanketed our event with "5 inches of snow and sleet". Thank You in advance!
LET’S TALK LITURGYby Margaret O’Malley
There is something circulating on Facebook about the books of the Bible – somehow it is supposed to calculate your age! That prompted someone to ask me a question about the difference between the Catholic Bible and the Protestant Bible. Interesting question! It has a simple answer and a more complicated one. For now I will go for the simple answer.
The Catholic Bible as we know it is a collection of books written over a period of about 1000 years from 950 B.C. to 100 A.D. The books were written by a variety of people and in a variety of styles. Often the Bible is referred to as a library of books.
The major difference between the Catholic and Protestant bibles is in the Old Testament. The Catholic Bible has 7 books that the Protestant Bible does not have. Any guesses on what they are? Tobit, Judith, 1 & 2 Maccabees, Wisdom, Sirach and Baruch. The Catholic Bible has 46 books in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament.
There are many translations in both versions of the Bible. If you are in the market to purchase a bible you probably want to ask someone which are which. On the Copyright page you could also look for an Imprimatur and a Nihil Obstat which are ‘seals of approval’ from the Catholic Bishops. I will explain those further next time.
In the meantime – during these beautiful fall days – why not pick up your bible and look at those extra seven books.
SET YOUR CLOCKS BACK!
Daylight Saving Time ends this weekend (Nov. 6). Don’t forget to set your clocks back 1 hour before you go to bed on Saturday!
AD SPACE AVAILABLE

A Note from the Adrian Dominican Sisters
We will be united with you in your prayer/adoration time on November 8 for guidance and wisdom. We also will be having a special hour of prayer on Sunday, November 6, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in St. Catherine Chapel at our Dominican Living Center. You are invited to join us as well.
Here is a special prayer for us all:
O Holy Mystery, we live in a time of peril and promise. We ask that you infuse each of us, voters and candidates for elected office, with a longing for peace and the common good of all your people and creation.
Rooted in the Gospel, with this intention deep in our hearts, we place our trust in You, O Holy Mystery, and in the power of our communal prayer.
