and University City, as well as nationally renowned medical facilities and
academic institutions. The University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University,

Pennsylvania Ballet, or the Academy of Music, all just a 5-minute ride from
your new home. Enjoy theater, music, and dance performances at the
nearby Annenberg Center and Irvine Auditorium at the University
of Pennsylvania. Take in a touring Broadway show at one of the city's
premier venues, including the Forrest Theatre, Walnut Street Theatre, and
Merriam Theaters. Spend an afternoon admiring the exhibits at the
Philadelphia Museum of Art, or experience the
charm of Society Hill and the city's numerous
other neighborhood and cultural attractions.
Culture & Entertainment
Recreation
Year-round recreation flourishes in Center City and the surrounding
neighborhoods. Take a jog or bike ride through the Schuylkill River
Park, just 3 blocks away, which meanders along the river past some
of Philadelphia's most scenic views of the Philadelphia Museum of Art,
Boathouse Row, and Fairmount Park.
You’ll also enjoy working out in the community’s private fitness center or
taking a jog along the tranquil
paths within the community.
In the early 19th century, Biddle Hall, a National Historic Landmark,
served as the first home of the U.S. Naval Academy and also as the
nation’s first retirement home for sailors and Marines. The building
was designed in 1826 by William Strickland, one of the most influential
architects in American history. The original setting of the parade ground
in front of Biddle Hall and the flanking Governor’s and Surgeon General’s
residences have been carefully preserved, and provide an ideal place to
walk and meet neighbors.
