Covid-19 is an infectious disease presently active in Outagamie County and surrounding communities. Some infectious carriers are asymptomatic and unaware of their condi-tion. The Thompson Center on Lourdes (TCoL) is concerned about the transmission of COVID-19. Although TCoL has taken steps to increase sanitation and distance be-tween visitors during this pandemic, there is still a risk of contracting this disease in any public setting. By visiting TCoL and participating in activities you are assuming that risk. By signing below, you state that you are aware of the risk posed to you and agree to hold TCoL harmless if you contract COVID-19. You also agree to increase personal san-itation, cover your mouth when sneezing or coughing, and maintain social distancing when participating in programs on the premises.

Getting to Know You Maureen Radtke has been a devoted participant of the Thompson Center beginning when it was at the College Avenue location. As that location was closing, Maureen was on a committee to find a new site for the chorus group. She was so grateful when the activities found a new home at The Thompson Center on Lourdes. Singing in the choir has been very important to her espe-cially when performing in the concerts and at local nursing homes to entertain

and enrich others’ lives. Maureen values her involvement with TCoL because of the comradery and many meaningful and close friendships that have developed. She has given freely of her time by serving lunches and volunteering to deliver monthly newsletters to several locations. When delivering newsletters, she loves interacting with the people, who are always delighted to see her. Maureen served proudly in the US Navy and appreciates the kindness shown to veterans by TCoL. Many fellow veterans were encouraged by her to attend TCoL’s veteran luncheon. She has three children living in the Appleton area, one living in Minnesota and one is deceased. Whenever Maureen comes to TCoL, she always has a friend with her, is smiling, and shows her enthusiasm about the organization. Thank you for your dedication and loyalty.

We’d like to know more about our participants to help us connect with others.

Census 2020 Update

August 2020 | 15

The 2020 U.S. Census is underway, and it’s not too late for you to be counted!

More than half the households across America have responded, and more are

responding every day. In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, the U.S. Census Bureau has adjusted its 2020 Census

operations in order to: · Protect the health and safety of the American public and Census Bureau employees. · Implement guidance from Federal, State, and local authorities regarding COVID-19. · Ensure a complete and accurate count of all communities.

The deadline to respond to the Census has been extended to October 31. You can complete your Census questionnaire in one of these ways: · By mail: The Census Bureau began mailing paper questionnaires in mid-April to

homes that had not yet responded. If you have not already responded, please com-plete and mail back your form as soon as possible.

· By phone by calling 844-330-2020 · Online on your computer, smartphone or tablet at www.my2020census.gov

Language support is available. Every household that has not already responded to the 2020 Census will be visited by a Census taker between August 11- October 31 to en-sure a complete and accurate count.

The U.S. Census Bureau is committed to making the 2020 Census quick, easy, and safe. The Census Bureau will never ask you for: · Your full Social Security number · Your bank account or credit card numbers · Anything on behalf of a political party · Money or donations
