WA ScamNet and Associations: Alert re Scammers hacking into emails and changing bank details on invoices, still to look genuine.. The payment then goes to the scammers bank instead of the Supplier. Council Motoring Clubs: Agenda for meeting 17th February.

Brockwell Classic Run 2020: Change of date to Sun. October 11. Further details to come AVVVA Christmas Luncheon: Sun. 29 Nov. This Traditional Event needs to be booked soon. Possible Venues being checked – Vintage Tearooms, and Victoria Hotel both in Toodyay, and the Mundaring Weir Hotel. If you have any thoughts, now is the time to let Bronwyn know. SWAPMEET: All paperwork up to date, Shire permits in hand, including all food Vendors. St Johns to be on site, Emergency Services and Police advised. This afternoon the physical tasks to be put in place – Marking of ‘Sellers’ Bays, including setup of some areas for St. Johns, Food Vendors, Toilets and especially checking the security of perimeters and closure of Peel Tce and Youth Park entrances. More webbing may be needed. Members needing bays will be marked out adjoining Club site. There has been multiple enquiries, the theme has been emphasised as a Swapmeet, mostly related to vehicles, motors, parts, tools, vintage-historic, extending to household items, bric a brac. It has been clearly stated that the event is not a general, open, everyday market, no fresh food or preserves, finished jewellery, face painting or that type of market stall. Moved: Craig Pollock…. New Members: Nil GENERAL BUSINESS : *Clubrooms-building: Shire heritage building Surveyor contacted, still awaiting status report and finalising of budget allocation. Further items to be addressed are - Drainage from rose garden across back of building. Are RCDs and electrical up to date or need checking. Plumbing needs attention, all taps either leaking or dripping. Broken glass window in room at back, west side of building. *Craig: advised that he needed parts, in particular a special tyre. He will source through Fred Plane or Fred Singleton. *A Small Television: has been set up in the main room of the Clubrooms by Ed Fawkes. Using a Thumb drive Members can play their photos etc through while at the Clubrooms. *Merchandise: Bronwyn displayed some Steering Wheel Covers, with a royal blue background these are $30each. Also a sturdy sample carry bag was shown, this will be $15. Available tomorrow will be the peak caps. Another item of interest mentioned was stubby holders, these may be the next thing sourced for Club merchandise. *Wiggles: The life of one of the famous Wiggles was saved recently due to a Defribulator machine being available. Discussion then ensued as to the Pros and Cons of the Club owning one, who would take responsibility for the item especially for its travel with the Club to Events etc. Ed Fawkes said he would be responsible for the item. The price is in the vicinity of $2,200, can be obtained through St. John Ambulance. Due to much conjecture for and against, further research is to be carried out and the matter re-visited at a future meeting. There being no further business, the President closed the meeting at 11.35am Next General Meeting Sat. March 21st 2020 10.30am @ The AVVVA Clubrooms.

NORTHAM VINTAGE SWAP MEET 16th February 2020 The 2020 Vintage Swap Meet was a huge success and that is because of all the work done before the big day. The Weather Gods were kind to us and the numbers of stall holders and public up on last year. Thanks to Sylvia Bristow-Stagg for the organisation that takes almost 12 months, so time to start on the 2021 Swap Meet ! Also many other hard workers like Ed Fawkes, Fred Plane and many others from the AVVVA who were there Saturday setting up the oval.
Thank You I would like to thank Mr Craig Costello for his help getting things ready for the swapmeet ie. Loading of the coolroom with drinks etc. Also Mr Craig Pollock for his work on fixing the gate into the back yard and the work on the Zeta. Thanks also to Mr Fred Singleton for chasing up parts for the Zeta and help in the shed. Also thanks to Mr Andrew Wells for Zeta parts and Mr Tom Newsome for help and advice on the Zeta.
